sujimancer - does it ever get better?

I don't got any platinum tier sujimon, got some golds though. I leveled them up, maxed their friendship and everything so they're at the highest they can be.

I equip said sujimon in the proper slots, bring them into battle, and the damage is very subpar from what I've seen. and the melee damage is... it makes me want to cry.

do you need platinum tier sujimon for sujimancer to be remotely useful? or is it just a super creative but overall weak job?

I'd say it really depends on your level, but you are correct in assuming that sujimancer isn't that good in comparison to the other jobs you can utilize.
As far as I know right now (chapter 9).

I feel like the best perk of Sujimancer is having all elements in your pocket outside of physicals. But rolling the job means you aren't rolling Hero. Only benefit you'd get really is from permanent stats, which aren't working.

Unless the job gets crazy at later levels, I'm not really sold

I had some very powerful Sujamon and the power of Sujamnacer was comparable if not slightly weaker than say, a magical attack from the cabbie job.

There is no point in using Sujimancer considering that hero class exist which is so broken.

As neat as Sujimancer could be, nothing can really compare to how busted Hero is.
