Dondoko island is so bad for money

Why on earth do I have to afk in an area where I can't do anything of interest?

While you develop the island you are kept busy so it's fine. But once you are done and it has 5 stars there is nothing to do besides being afk.

So here I am, ""playing"" the game on the steam forums.

I'm not that far into the island, but wouldn't it be a lot faster to just go to sleep immediately? Or do guests not build satisfaction if you do that?

you cant go to sleep if its still midday. Ive finished the island and really all i do all day now is just harrass my guests, get my money and be on my way

Both no. You can't go to sleep before sunset and any time you skip doesn't build satisfaction.

It's not worth it. Trees and rocks are there to get you started but your daily production outpaces them.
Gathering is bad as well. Ground objects can't be gathered if your bag is full, that happens like daily so it's a run back and forth between a menu and the island. Plus you shouldn't gather on the most lucrative area (the farm) because your guest can't spend while you're there.

Just generate resources to make buildings and sell them. You can make half a million Dondobucks per day easily.

You are kinda making a big issue out of something that take less than a minute if you're quick about it. Don't mess with the trash and only go for minerals on top plateau and get the pearls along the beach around volleyball net. Also grab poison mushrooms around large tree and head back.

I found farming with Sujimon to be a waste of my time. I don't know if there are achievements linked to that, yet. I'll hate it if it comes to that.

Wait.. what? You can harass them?

hitting them with your bat is possible, i also sometimes just push them as i ran forward haha very nice detail is when you shove them as you walk by, they each have their own voice even npc's

I don't like that there's no real way to AFK (that I know of). Everytime I step away I'm worried that's when the Pirates will randomly show up. You can go into the house, but time doesn't progress. Maybe you can go to the farm?

Weird thing is I have a Golden Gachapin Statue and a Golden Mukku Statue on all my islands which is supposed to "ward off" and "exorcise" all evil on the island.

I guess... that was just for the miniatures at the souvenir shop but even those have no effect.

Feels VERY misleading, TBH.

Dondoko Island does not scale well past mid game so don't waste your time on it after getting 5 stars. You're much better off farming the dungeons later on which also give crafting materials and XP.
