Push on a little more to open more Hawaii, get a full party and unlock job switching. Since you have come this far you may as well take it up to that point before deciding if going further is worth it. For now all I can offer is this warm blanket.
WTH Bruh? Chapter 3..... delaying main story to go and finish all the sidequests ...... run into Poke .... People that i can catch... ähm befriend ...
Doing all of the nonsensical sidequest .... wich are again awesome.
"Grinding" whilst exploring/doing sidequests so i hit level 18 without even noticing.
Getting some nice weapon upgrades.
Some Poundmates are Back and stronger then ever (Nancy!!!!!!)
Picking up all the stuff i find on the floor, buying from all the shops. Getting that friendship bs up.
Getting the relations to your Teammates up, play darts, koi koi, snap some pictures of pervs, deliver mad fast food....
And you are bored .... Bruh..... sorry to break it but maybe just maybe that is not your typ of game. because it offers plenty of fun to be had
Oh and i forgot: As in all yakuza games it is just a lot of fun trying to guess the who is behind something what are the motivations etc. just to go on in the game have like 70% of your guesses be true and then get a mad plot twist that you didnt see coming.
Pacing in IW is atrocious. You will not feel like you are off the leash with a multitude to do until Chapter 4 at the earliest.
. . .of course your mileage may vary, but it isn't until I've gotten a full party that Hawaii feels open for true exploration and diversion.
It's... kind of skippable? I don't want to spoil anything so:
You basically end up on the minigame island but after a bit of an intro/tutorial you can simply leave but it takes a minute.
Plenty of games will "go big" as soon as possible, and that's fine. This isn't one of those games, though. You're meant to spend quality time with the characters, appreciate the environmental details, learn the basics of battle, and gradually let yourself be absorbed by the world the game offers.
LaD: Infinite Wealth really starts to take off in Chapter 5 in regards to being able to gain lots of EXP and cash. I've put the story aside for a bit to focus on Sujimon battles and dungeon-diving while leveling jobs and upgrading equipment.
Was actually pretty disappointed when I first started playing it. Like you're literally waking up at 7am to go to a 9-5 office job, WTF? But stuck in there since LAD was one of the best RPGs I've played in years, and now this one is too! Just took some getting into first.
