Roughly how long is the game? Also is the difficulty curve okay?
Just wanted to be sure before I embark on this game ~ will it take me at least 50-60 hours? Really wanna get my money's worth

Also is the difficulty curve relatively alright? Or is it just straight punishing from beginning to end - no point where you don't feel strong?

Everything I've seen says 60-80 hours and 100+ to 100% the game.

You're overestimating it. 20 hours for story completion and doing some side activites and 60 hours to platinum 100% (including DLC).

ive played about 40 hours and am only on chapter 4, i'm way over leveled now though lol

Long! 47 hours so far and on chapter 10. The first game had 15 chapters, so I'd assume there's a fair chunk left still. Plenty of side content to do too.

Difficulty is fine. A bit on the easy side actually. Largely depends on how much side content you do though, just rush straight through the main story and you may end up a bit underleveled making it harder. Do too much side content and you'll be overleveled making it too easy.

already around 40 hours and im still at chapter 6. around 20 hours of those are from Dondoko Island. lol

I'm at 40 hours and getting towards the end of the story (Chapter 12 at the moment).
It very highly depends on how much side content you engage with, of which there is a LOT and it's better included than in the previous game.

As for the difficulty curve it feels much smoother than in the previous game. For multiple reasons such as: better rewards across the board for side content/goofy stuff, the xp rewards feel less punishing than before, the optional grind dungeons get you up in xp extremely fast and the story battles are regularly marked in terms of level and gear requirement.

Overall I find that the difficulty comes mostly from being undergeared rather than xp in this game. If you ever struggle it's most likely that you haven't changed your gear recently (such as trying a new job you have 0 weapon for, that's a big no no for example).

All in all I'd say the story is about the same length as in the last game but without stupid forced grind towards the end (I haven't finished the game yet, but from what the reviews said it was fine too and I'm a bit overleveled already soooo I doubt I'll struggle).

30 hours and got to chapter6 whit just a bunch of sidequest havent touched the labyrinth too much yet, but i did get 3 sujimon badges and currntly kinda ddicted to the doke island, its a bit of animal cross/rune factory based where it has combat you clear trash get ♥♥♥♥ build sht catch big c's and other insects so kinda ddicting ngl it also helps you train the sujimon and earn you quite a bit of money. its nice if you wanna take a break fo the regular battles. It also has a couple of arcade games liek sega fishing virtua fighter 3 and the last one i cant remember never knew it until i played it here but it is by far one of the best beat em ups i have seen for arcade. so those alone you can spend some hours in if you want too. there is a bunch of other side minigames to do like pokemon snap clone called sicko snap and the game does have quite a bit of sidequests other then that. you could prob get like 60-80 hours in it if you do some of the stuff it depend son your playstyle.

You play it as long as you want, you decide at what time the game ends

No idea about story mode, depends on how fast you can read (audio in japanese, text in english )

About difficulty: it depends on what's difficult for you.
Most of the time in video game, it is about number for example AC Valhalla on the hardest mode, a zealot can kill you in one move while you will need 20+ hits to defeat him.
Nothing diifficult it is just time consuming: wait for an opening 2-3 hits then step back and when you know your stuff you can counter for a longer opening.

Same thing goes here, the difference is that it is turn base. meaning tough guys (pink/magenta) will start the turn and even if you're using perfect guard, Ichiban will not survive the second tough guy, end the battle or pray that IA target some other party member.

Bad news if you don't buy their DLC, no difficulty settings and you can deal some good damage to tough guys with the right item.

the dev team said it would take you around 4 days straight, so we can assume it's around 72 hours main story if you're not speedrunning it.

Game can be done in 20 hours if you literally skip all the cutscenes, don't do any of the side stories and mini-games.

If you actually watch all the cut scenes, it would already take you close to 10 hours just to get to chapter 3.

60 hours story, 100 hours for 100%. Island - infinite time. Infinite dungeons - infinite time.
