So quick question about Ichiban Confections. (Spoilers)
So is Inchiban just stupid or something? Dude had an ENTIRE multi-million dollar business and the best in his nation. And the mf just leaves it entirely and loses all of it? He has no stocks at all? Not on the board? He's not getting monthly checks from the business he took from small shop to actual millions.
This is genuinely a damn big plot hole and makes me wonder why he starts off the game still living in a crap hole after helping them become a MASSIVE business.

No. Ichiban is EXTREMELY stupid. Not just stupid. I've felt the cringe levels of stupid. They're insanely high.

If you're upset with that plot hole now, you should have thought about from teh previous games why he didn't use money he earned working for Ichiban Confections to pay for the money you had to collect as a story mission. Would have been nice to incorporate that into the main story.

To be honest you'll encounter many more immersion breaking things as you continue to play. I think the previous game had a better thought out story than what I'm currently seeing.

He didn't. Ichiban Confections is owned by Eri; Kasuga was simply an employee. While in most cases you'd expect a company president to have some kind of share option, golden handshake et al, in most cases you'd also expect them to have some kind of employment history demonstrating management skills rather than just pulling some random weirdo off the street in front of a soapland on the basis that you're desperate, he's willing to help and your grandmother seems to like him. Needless to say, it's unlikely Kasuga's employment contract would be what you might call 'normal'.

Side content, not passing onto the next game.

Same as one spends fortune Quickstarting that Skyscraper in Judge Eyes only for it to be gone in LJ (and 7).

Or Kamurocho hills. In Y3 only preparation work is being done, in Y4 ther're some few floors constructed. Yet in "previous" game Kiwami 2 the building is tall and almost finished.

Nah. It did pass on to this current game. If you go to ichiban confections you can talk to the grandma and she'll refer to him as the former president. He pretty much gave the reins of the company back to Eri and didn't keep any money in his bank account for whatever reason. I wish they went more into detail how he used up most of his money helping people instead of just not explaining it at all.

I mean true that could easily explain it. He used most if not all the money to help out Ex-Yakuza. Leading to him to be poor and still working at hello work, but entirely fine with it cause he helped those people out.

It was never his money. He ran the company, but he was not the owner.

Yes hes his stupid. Did you not play 7? Hes not just stupid, hes probably brain damaged. he sees people TRANSFORM in battle. The others dont see that

Well, Ichiban is kinda uh...dumb. He was the president of the company, but after Like a Dragon he apparently handed the company back to Eri and er...didn't actually keep any of the money he earned for himself in the bank or anything.

ichiban confections or whatever was just a mini-game and not part of the main story so yeah, you can say that it was just a filler or non-cannon that's why infinite wealth does not even mention it well besides the old lady who owns the small shop ichiban something again.

even if hes not the owner he made it a booming success i dont see eri just abandoning him to live in a shack after that. Not even a shack it looks like a storage room for a adult club

Side content is never canon in Yakuza. In Like a Dragon, Ichiban can date several women and it's implied he gets all down 'n' dirty with 'em, and then in the next game he shows he doesn't know the first thing about talking to ladies. It's presumed that it's all going on in his head, because of that wild imagination of his.

Also, Kiryu has a wild imagination that he doesn't normally show, which is why he should be filthy rich after all that money he made in real estate.

Presidents get a salary. I understand him not having the money of the entire company but he did earn a salary for working there, which should have been pretty good.

Explain Nancy existing in infinite wealth. Explain the comment of the grandma at Ichiban Confections talking about Ichiban being the former president. I'll help you, while not all side content is canon, some of it is.

Normally they do, yes. What was the salary Ichiban agreed to again? You appear to have missed the part where he received no money from that at all since he was a volunteer/

Ah. My bad. He didn't receive a salary, but he was earning supplemental wages through bonuses after successful business ventures. It was performance based pay.
