No subtitles for the radio podcast?

just tried listening to the after6 podcast in the game and theres no english subs. is this intentional? if not can they be patched in?

This is gonna be the real litmus test of how lazy the localizers/RGG really are with this. There have always been things that don't get subtitles. NPC chatter, dialogue during battles, etc. In fact the only things that ever get subs where Japanese captions weren't already an option is the occasional unelaborated note or graphic during dialogue sequences.

But now we have an entire built-in feature that literally no general audience outside Japan can get a single bit of use out of. If ever there were a scenario where the camel's back would finally break, this is it. That said, I have a feeling SEGA are going to casually hope that the calls for radio subtitles never reach a point where they can no longer afford to ignore them. They absolutely won't be doing this just because they should have in the first place.

It does seems like for the English speaker you're supposed to listen to the English podcast while the Japanese players listen to the Japanese podcast. This is the same for Japanese players where they do not get Japanese subs for the English podcasts.

pretty sure they are the same just one is japanese and the other is english but if you wana be a weeb then learn the language

They actually differ quite a bit, AfterJunction talks more about other Yakuza characters, with references to characters from past games, the English one focuses more on Hawaii and culture. Really annoying they didn't translate it

You can change the audio language to English, play the radio bits, then swap it back.

One of my few gripes about the game. It would be nice to have subtitles for those.

Actually no. No you can't the radio broadcast isn't subtitled in English VO either its just... the exact same so unless you actually understand japanese spoken at a normal pace/conversational cadence you won't be enjoying the broadcast at all :l
