A BUG IN SPIKEOUT
I have cleared all 5 stages of SPIKEOUT. But I haven't got the stat bonus of clearing stage 4. Since I have got the stat bonus of clearing stage 5 to prove I have cleared all 5 stages, Is it a bug?

Yup. Extremely annoying since Spikeout sucks hard. And if this is because I played on "easy" mode then this can seriously go ♥♥♥♥ itself. I'm not playing this poorly made Fighting Force clone on an even more difficult mode. It's unfair as it is. I'm not playing Spikeout ever again. I bet the loser who made that crap never made anything worthwhile ever again. :steamsalty: :steamhappy:

Apparently it's not a bug. There's some branching path ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Okay, so on stage 2 when you drop down the broken staircase and fight in an area where you can go under a bridge. Instead of taking the gate to the right of where you enter, go under the bridge and theres a gate on the other side.
I still hate this garbage. It's unfair, poorly made and I hope anyone who worked on it or likes it is forever constipated.

I can't tell if you meant to be joking so if not, you may be amused to learn Spikeout was developed by the creator of the Yakuza series. Several Spikeout movesets are reused in the Yakuza games as well. Spikeout does feel designed for multiplayer, and how to play it properly is very much not explained.

It was, in fact, a joke. And yes, Spikeout plays with friends, not just better with friends, but plays at all. It's not recommended as a singleplayer experience. Only way I got through it this time was continuing over and over again. Had no idea there were branching paths back in the day btw. :steamhappy:

Ha that's funny. And I still don't know where the branching path is or which I need to play up to again to get the completion for stage 4. I've seen it explained but the last thing I want is to get it wrong and go a third time.

I played on Easy and got the full stat bonus.

Credit feeding through a game...... Smh... Your opinion is null. Gitgud.

I still hate this garbage. It's unfair, poorly made and I hope anyone who worked on it or likes it is forever constipated.

What else did you expect from a quarter muncher lmao

that'd be Toshihiro Nagoshi, creator of Yakuza.

I love this game and put a lot of time into learning it, but I'm not gonna blame you guys for the way you feel! For a single player, it's one of the harder arcade games to finish on one credit. All I can say is when it clicks, it's a huge rush to survive, more so than any souls or most difficult action games.

I might just make a small guide for it

Nothing. I just didn't want it in a Yakuza game at least. SEGA has better options. They also chose the worst Virtua Fighter for IW.

Not a bug. You have some rando sitting on the bench near Arcade telling you that you can get to stage 4 via secret passage from stage 2. So two runs minimum to close this topic.

I'd be interested in a guide because I really couldn't seem to make it click in the later levels. I thought I understood it as I was doing much better in the early stages and incorporating charge moves into combos, but later on it just felt impossible to avoid damage. It did feel well made, though, like something that was good but not necessarily intuitive so I didn't get it.
