what the... Where did my 60 fps go?
earlier, after the game was installed, I played a little and checked how everything works. at high settings it was 60 fps (well, at maximum too). After checking, I quit the game because I was busy with something else. But now I have time and.. Not that at the maximum, even at just high settings, it outputs 30 fps. Currently, 60 fps is given only at minimum settings.

My laptop: Acer Nitro 5, Amd Ryzem 5 3550h, Gtx 1650 mobile, 24 gb ram.

you are hitting a vram limit. you need to figure out which setting has the most impact and only set that (or those) to their lowest setting. Usually you start with shadows and model textures as those tend to be the biggest. your only other option to squeeze under with less impact to the rendering of the assets is to cut your resolution down.

Your laptop has way less dedicated video memory than the game requires even at 1080p I would imagine. They dont bother optimizing the assets anymore and every dev/publisher has collectively decided that 8 gb is now standard for 1080p, 12gb for 1440p, 16gb for 4k.

note also that it was nearly impossible to go over vram limit in 4k with a card that only had 10gb as a flagship like 2 years ago. Do assets look twice as sharp to anyone?

Also shut down everything that isn't the game. Especially browsers.

My anecdote here is that Cyberpunk 2077 either never hit the VRAM limit or handled it way, way better three years ago, but today, I hit it on the regular, and have to deal with the consequences however I can.

Haven't played Y8 long enough to really formulate an opinion but I think that world textures might be higher in detail. Signs, at least, which suggests everything. That's a big "might".

Thanks for the advice, but I think I figured out what's wrong. When I did the first launch, I immediately set the graphics to high settings (the game set it to the minimum by default). But now... I'm not sure if I understood correctly, but in my opinion changing the settings in the menu does not give any change in the game. Checking what's wrong with the fps, I set the settings to minimum (while in the game) and went to the menu, and set the settings to high in the menu, but nothing has changed in the game. That's why I didn't notice that I was playing at low settings, I thought I was playing at high settings. Maybe I'm just making it up to myself, but it seemed to me that everything is as I think.
