CAN WE PLEASE GET RID OF THAT NG+ OUTFIT FREE ROAM RULE? Here's why...
When I say this i mean, when i play the game i wanna free roam with what i wear (Story, not that Premium BS). I don't want to have to finish the game just to get that OPTION. It's DUMB. I'm not a completionist. I just wanna casually play a game. I know you can defend it by saying, "Oh it's for those who complete it! It's a reward!" I get that. 100%. But at the same time i don't wanna be wearing the same dang thing everyday. Ya know?

that's the complaint, which isn't new. People want to switch clothes for the main story, outside of Premium Adventure. idk what games allowed you to switch in NG+ but most of them don't. Although I would guess Yakuza 8 will let us do this like it was in Gaiden. It's been requested by fans for years. and Gaiden was improved by it imo.

Yeah it's stupid. I can understand cutscenes if the model is different/higher quality, or cgi, but otherwise they should be in cutscenes too.

has this been confirmed for this game? Gaiden let you walk around with different outfits, I just assumed this would to. Gaiden had no pre-rendered cutscenes, which I think is a first for RGG, which is why they only allowed you to play dress up in Premium Adventure. It's been one of the major asks by the fans so I was happy to see it in Gaiden.
We don't even know if that'll be the case yet. Being that Gaiden and Ishin let you freeroam in different outfits we could very well choose what we wear.

Man I sure hope so. I always thought it was a terrible design choice. When I'm done with the game I move on. Some new outfits won't be enough to get me to keep going.

Those two things are, in fact, much alike. Tone makes the difference in whether they are perceived as one or the other.

There's nothing to critique here. It's a reward for completionist, why casual player still wants everything lol?

A hardcore player will generally have everything wrapped up before the game ends, why make a reward that's only usable after all the content is finished? Casual players would ironically have a use for outfits post game. Completionists have game achievements for that. Don't make cosmetics a completionist reward. Rewards for completion should occur after completion.

Premium, or Story though? Premium, IDC. I want it to be in Story. I'm all for doing completion stuff, but not for cosmetics. Not worth it to come back.

What they could've done like in some games, is actually leaving the cutscenes how they are, which makes it look like the character switched outfits mid scene.
Personnaly that would've been fine for me and ads some comical value and is canon to Ichiban's crazyness

it was so silly for gaiden, but yeah since it was possible in gaiden it's probably possible in lad8.
