At least Yakuza fans who have played all the games (not like those who started with Yakuza 7) are quite bothered by what they have done with the main saga.
The character is literally a meme and the combat system is terrible. As an RPG, it is very poorly made and is unfair to the player. It does not give you advantages like other games like Persona 5 Royal.
On the other hand, Judgment improved how good the combat system was and brought us one of the best protagonists: Yagami-san

But why did Yokoyama make such a ridiculous decision, first of all, turn-based combat is a mechanic that has become obsolete in the world of video games, which is why Final Fantasy and several other games stopped using it.

RGG is definitely digging his grave for decisions like this
