So, you guys got it for $60, right?
Fanatical seems reputable, and it's got keys for this game at $60. ♥♥♥♥ this "new normal" of $70 per game. I will not argue against people in favor of it so just rate me jester and don't waste the time.

Do you get the key from Fanatical straight away or only when the game comes out?

It's just released when it comes out, for now it's just a cute digital paperweight on Steam

Huh, I set up a GGdeals email notification alert yesterday but never got word that it was on other stores like Fanatical already.
Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah either them or even one of the more unofficial grey stores is where I buy 99% of my games. This will be no different. $115AUD my ass, no idea what the hell Sega is thinking with this nonsense RRP Steam pricing.

Good to know, thanks. I bought Yakuza Like a Dragon for $40 something like a week after launch on sale, so I'll hold off and see if it gets a sale shortly after release.

You get it straight away - you can go to "my orders and keys" or whatever they call it, and see the key right away. I already activated mine, so all there is now is the wait

I can tell you what they're thinking right now - "We can get away with it." And it's true, they certainly can. Most people are going to pay the full price either because they want to have it now, maybe a physical copy, or their PC isn't powerful enough to run the game smoothly compared to the cheaper console alternatives, or they just aren't aware that they can get a better deal.

It's a really scummy tactic, too. It operates entirely on fear of missing out/getting spoiled, while operating under the guise of "games becoming more expensive to make," as if the development team is getting a raise.

I paid 110 usd for the full thing here on steam only because I feel sorry for Sega having to nickel and dime everyone. Very pathetic. I hope they don't scare everyone off with these prices.

Thanks for the info, I got it on fanatical too. I don't usually buy from fanatical, but I must admit if you're gonna buy a game day 1 anyway, you may as well just take their discounts

Even cheaper on Gamebillet after rechecking my GGdeals alerts just now also.
94AUD, unsure about other regions.

idk why $70 dollars for a game is now the standard price, that's already an overkill right there

Because Square Enix got away with it and now other developers are slowly transitioning from 60 to 70. Sucks but unless every gamer universally agreed to not buy at that price (which we know wouldn't happen), then they're just gonna keep raising it as far as they can. I think the paid day 1 DLC annoys me more than the price increase though. Thankfully it seems to be mostly cosmetic for this game

Buy a key if you dont want to support the devs. I'll buys keys for AAA but not for RGG. I'll buy the ultimate edition for full price to support the best studio in gaming.

I understand 70 for next gen games, but this isnt next gen...let alone Sega not letting Steam sell the game in some countries.
Stoibs Sep 20, 2023 @ 8:23pm
The 'Next Gen Pricing' (Or *current gen*, it's been 3 years now..) is a nonsense excuse anyway. You have stuff releasing cross-gen on the PS4's still and others like Tears of the Kingdom on 2017's Switch hardware getting away with the new 70USD tag for no tangible reason.

Where is that next gen thing coming from. I remember Starcraft 2 establishing the 70€ and that was PS3 era.

I'm just gonna buy it from Steam since it's much more cheaper than key retailers. Cost around $51 on my side
