First off, glad to see someone else who is passionate about taking ArcheBlade to the next level. I myself would love to be involved with anything I can help with.
I would like some feedback on this, but I think the most popular set ups would bea combination of as you said, 1v1 and 2v2, but also offering a 4v4. There are already 4 man teams set up. in fact the ArcheBlade Scrim Network have been working on something similar or at least trying to. I truly believe that 4 man would end up being the most popular.
Picks and bans are of serious importance in terms of competition. I like the idea, but we would need to decide on an appropriate number of bans and how picks would be decided.
Personally, with the current limit of characters, I believe the ban should be no more than a single ban for team. I argue this simply for the fact of character limitations in the games current state. Pushing that number any higher right now could be very dangerous in terms of character variation in matches as well as to not restrict the number of team compositions and combinations. This also leaves plenty of room for Character synergys to be put together on both teams.
As for 2v2s and 1v1s, I don't believe bans are necessary simply due to the face that any two combination of characters can be deadly and there is always someone else who can easily jump in and take that characters place without losing effectiveness. however, if you are set on bans, you could at least in a 2v2, push the ban limit to two characters per team. This way, a total of 4 characters would be banned each game, without restricting gameplay options too much. But for 1v1s, I don't see bans being related in any way and should most likely be dropped as an idea. I believe that 1v1s should also be the ONLY competative mode where duplicate characters should be allowed. This way, those looking to prove themselves as the Master of a particular character, they can do so.
if you like any ideas of wish to expand on them let me know and I shall do likewise. I hope some of this helps and as I said, happy to help where I can.
