Problem doing grabtricks using a keyboard on PC.

I used to really enjoy the Tony Hawk game series when I was younger, but back then I played on PS2 (THUG1 +2, THAW and THPG), but also THPS3 on gba, so playing this on PC with keyboard is a whole new experience for me..so please bare with me xD

Right...So I'm wondering if anyone else playing this game on PC using a keyboard is actually able to do any grab tricks? Not sure if relevant, but I'm playing on a 13" laptop without numpad.

I don't know what's causing it, but whenever I'm trying to grab my board in the air, nothing happens. I've tried hitting -_ (on my keyboard its located next to right shift) with many different combinations, but nope. HOWever, looking at the skateshop menu for tricks, it says I should use ?, but that don't work either.

I was trying to find out whether I can change the keys myself manually, but I couldn't find anything :/ Playing any skating game with just ollies, grinds and liptricks just isn't doing it for me...


There HAS to be a way for this to be working like it should without needing a controller.. either there is something buggy, or I'm being a tard right now. I really hope I'm not.. I just want to play the game properly, that's all.

On what I believe to be standard keyboards, grab tricks are on the ?/ key (I guess it detects a '/' as that is without holding shift). If there is a key between >. and shift, then you will be able to rebind it in the ini files (easier than it sounds). I am sorry if I misunderstood you, but it is difficult to tell what the problem is without actually seeing your laptop and trying it myself. The file in question, is located in the place the game was downloaded (the drive (usually c:/), either program files or program files x86, steam, steamapps, common, tony hawk's pro skater HD, THHDGame, config, Defaultinput.ini). If it isn't already default, open it with notepad. In the top list, for me, it is called 'slash', and is followed by the same command as 'B' on an xbox controller. Replace this with the relevant key. Make sure to save before closing.
