Insectoid fighter
Hello 'mates!
(First time I play the game)

I went obsessed with "Natural armor" (insectoid trait), so I made an insectoid fighter that I want to specialize in armors and wear an heavy armor (maybe Valor set if I'm able to complete it).
I read that heavy armors (and the valor set) need a lot of strength to be worn, maybe later on I would eventually realize that my insect fighter can't due to his stats (Btw when I created it I spent 10 points in STR and 4 points in vitality). But I found this advice really vague as I couldn't figure out HOW MUCH strength it requires to wear heavy armors such as valor set.

Well, the main question is: Do you think an insect fighter with natural armor is viable or will it be an handicap throughout the game?

As you might ask, my team is as follows:
- Meh: Insect fighter (armors)
- Mooh: Minotaur fighter (unarmed)
- Maah: Lizard rogue (missiles)
- Meow: Human mage (ice)

A trait (Natural armor) that gives you a protection bonus is only interesting early-on or will it be benefic durign the entire game?

:RogueIncoming: TL;DR: LoG = awesomeness

A fighter going for heavy armor should at least be able to carry 65 kg.

While certain races have clear class preferences all races are viable in all classes. Yet it does not spare you from paying attention to them.

Natural Armor grants Protection +5. A proper trained and equipped fighter can pass Protection 80, specialists even 100. Keep in mind: in LoG Protection is pure physical damage reduction and only reduces taken damage, never nullifies it.

I really thank you for your clear answers.

Now I can figure it out pretty easily...

Bonus question: How do I achieve a 65kg load? -> Does it increase alone with level-ups or should I spend points in skills to increase Strength? (Athletics skill tree maybe...)

Again, thank you for your help.

Having Strength 17+ does the trick.

An Insectoid can have Strength 14 at creation plus Strength gained from skills, traits or gear so it's not that hard. I'd start with initial Strength 14, get +1 from Swords 4 and pick up the rest on the go. Of course if you like a different weapon class better pick accordingly.
