Grinding and food collection...

I read somewhere that, in the game Legend of Grimrock, there are places to grind experience points and collect (unlimited?) food. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Floor 6: There's a room which has two snails which respawn as soon as you leave the room and head back to the main room. I think nearby is another room with constantly respawning undead pikemen. At the opposite end there's a room with a respawning giant crab.

Floor 9: In the Temple Hunting Grounds there are respawning Ice Raptors. They drop Ice Steaks. Close the doors or else they'll wander all over the place.

I don't want to read the spoilers just now. Will I recognize these areas in game or do I have to *know* these are respawn areas? (I suppose it is about respawning enemies).

You'll recognize them when enemies appear or re-appear even though you've previously cleared that area out.
