SaveStats + SaveEditor duo-tool (v1.1 release)
SaveStats is a simple tool that reads your Islands of Insight save file and generates some cool-looking pictures to represent your game progress in a clear, concise way.

Check this out! Player Card picture[i.imgur.com]
All of your in-game accomplishments collected in one place to stare at or share :)

The tool also creates a number of visual maps for you to check out. Can't find that last pesky Hidden Ring in an enclave? See exactly where it is! Sample map[i.imgur.com]
There are more features in it too, for example here's every flow orb in the hubs[i.imgur.com]

In case imgur doesn't work for you:

P.S. this imgur alternative seems shady lol, gotta find something better

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

SaveEditor is a primitive save file editing GUI that I literally threw together last night.

It has a horrible interface but can be used reliably to partially reset your save file progress. It will create and validate a backup before applying any changes.

A common request was resetting all progress but keeping sparks and cosmetics-bought-for-sparks - which is exactly what this tool lets you do (among a few other things).

The tool should work reliably well despite its alpha interface :)
NOTE: it is best to disable Steam Cloud while using this tool.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download both tools:
https://dl.dropbox.com/scl/fi/0tu1xegykoyqj24ma610t/SaveStats_v1-1.zip?rlkey=jhysv13wbbjmqgvfxspg7yhtm

Extract anywhere on your PC and run SaveStats.exe or SaveEditor.exe.
The program should figure out the path to your offline save file automatically.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for all of y'all's hard work!

Can't wait to get home and play!

Came across the news about the servers going offline a day too late and lost my save. Will the save editor support marking areas/puzzles/collectibles as completed? I'm not going to redo the first half of the game just to keep playing.

It's theoretically possible but I could spend moths building a complex GUI and it still just wouldn't be customizable enough. With thousands upon thousands of puzzles in the game (and hidden technical things like progression flags etc) I can't just restore your progress to where it was. Like I can't just go mark some enclaves as 100% complete, that'd mess up your mirabilis count and possibly more in some cases. It's a nightmare to sort out.

I think the best I can do is add a "give 10,000 sparks" button for a quicker start and point you towards these guides[ioiguidesfanmade.wixsite.com] here.

Sorry you lost your progress. They really mismanaged it. A lot of people got notified when they saw the game update, at which point it was practically too late.

title = "Ignorer of Config File"
That is the most passive-agressive setting in any config file I've seen. :steamhappy:

I love it. It tells you exactly how to change your title, nudges you to actually do it, mimics the in-game titles, and is just funny all around. It's perfect

This tool is absolutely amazing! I love how much information the Save Stats tool gets and organizes!

Since no one has shared theirs yet, here's my player card: https://i.imgur.com/PYipigI.png

A question or two:

What exactly are 'clusters' stats on player card? I can't figure it out...

Is there a possibility to generate also maps with all possible spawn points of grids, sentinels, mazes, stones, etc. so we know where to look for spawned-but-not-solved puzzles?

  • There are 3 locations of cluster puzzles - east of Lucent Waters fast travel (towards Shattered Library), above the "Bent Into Shape" in Autumn Falls, and at "Near-sighted" in Serene Deluge.
  • Unlike hub puzzles, these don't have a daily cycle - but rather, they are refreshed every time you launch the game.
  • These puzzles do not count towards the hub puzzle totals and do not belong to any enclave or quest.
  • They are unique in being neither completely static nor a part of daily rotations of the hubs. Each grid stays solved (even without the mod) but the grids themselves rotate.
  • There is a total of 240 puzzles in Lucent Waters (split into two sub-pools), 136 in Autumn Falls, and 92 in Serene Deluge in these clusters. Visit these locations regularly to play through the entire pool. Track your progress via SaveStats (there is no in-game tracker for them).
  • Offline Restored Mod significantly increases the spawn points per cluster making them much easier to grind.

Yes.
It doesn't make much sense for logic and other grids (2994 spawnpoints in the game, autumn alone has 1000) but wall slabs and floor slabs I can do a render. I'll post it here when I can.

Is it possible to render one for logic grids only as long as the region has 100 or less remaining? Or are the spawn points separated from the puzzle "in" them.

Do Pattern/Memory/Music grids spawn distinctly from Logic grids? Could those be put on their own map.

(cause I can't see the things you are. My initial thought was that it was a sea of precise dots, but now I'm thinking you mean that it isn't that simple.)

Otherwise, I love this Save Stats tool. It is very reliable and effective.

They're separate. There are 500-1000 spawn points per area for puzzle boxes. Just like wall-mounted and floor-mounted puzzles, the puzzle spawns in a randomized location every time you start the game. So I can't render a map of available logic grids right now.

I can render a map of every puzzle box spawn location but it's totally impractical, they are uniformly distributed everywhere. Rendering a map of wall and floor locations is on my to-do list.

I'm aware that a certain percentage of players are just here to solve logic grids and don't care much for everything else. There are a few things we could do about it, though my to-do list is already pretty darn long.

No, they all share their locations. I do not have a 100% confirmation but every spawnpoint I looked at so far explicitly allowed all 4 grid puzzle types. Safe to assume they all do.

I just wish I could mark all those stupid fractals as solved so I never have to look at them again.

I had a look at the JSON diff of the save file (before and after solving one) and I see how the structure changes. I could add Struct for each solved fractals but I don't know where to get all the `PuzzleId_0` for fractal puzzles from.

After I would add all of those, I guess I also need to update `Mastery-Fractal-Match` with a correct `Progress_0` (is it always +70 for each one solved?). Will it matter if I don't increment `xp-level`?

I guess that would be all the steps necessary to mark them all as completed?
Rushin Nov 21, 2024 @ 2:56am
Yeah you got it right pretty much. You can get puzzle ids from media/data/hubProfile.json (for hubs) and the megatable (for enclaves). Note that cheating the enclave ones like that might break your mirabilis count it enclave completion progress. Hubs should be okay.

You don't really need to touch the xp stuff. Level 99 is about 121k xp (there's another file in the same folder) so do what you must. I'm not sure about xp-level value.

In any case I would suggest not to bother with any of this and just solve the fractals once. The trick is that instead of dragging and releasing with mouse1, hold down mouse2 all the way through while clicking mouse1 to "test solution". If you want, throw an autoclicker on top of it and solve most fractals in under a second. Don't even need to mess up your save data to cheese them.
Guczi Nov 21, 2024 @ 4:31am
Yeah, only fractals that make sense are ones in Archipelago of Curiosities enclave, those are actually fun to solve.
