Why free so soon?
What about your buyers? Putting it for free to keep after a release so soon. Seems disrespectful to your playerbase.

All I got to say is, "Thank you!" 🙂😌

Okay, P.S.: My computer just crashed twice, 1 and 5 minutes into the game.
Do I need to delete the game from my computer, now?!

Hello All! To clarify the promotion, the game is indeed free to KEEP. Anyone who claims it during this 24hr period will be able to keep it forever.

Well, I'd trust it being free to keep was/is not a mistake.

edit: This was posted in the announcement topic.

Yeah I was wrong; it's 100% intentional. Seems a bit rushed to me but I don't know their situation and sometimes you need big moves to capture an audience.

They put the game on a 40% discount for 2 weeks, 1 month after release.. which I think is a good indication of the state of sales of the game to put things in perspective.

It was confirmed on their Twitter. It's free to keep, and after the 24 hours is up, you'll keep it forever.

We should reverse this way of thinking. When you buy a game, you should be proud to support the developers to begin with. If you liked what you paid for, you shouldn't feel disrespected. Sure, it can leave a sour taste to have a giveaway this early. I personally feel a bit sad for the developers, and i too would love to know more on the context and why they're doing it. Maybe they plan on releasing a surprise DLC. And maybe the early buyers will have it for free (though i'm unsure it's feasible on Steam).
Time will tell, but i can only wish the best for the devs in the future :SWHHeart:.

Edit: Thanks Pancake (above) for the insight. That's indeed sad news.

Yeah, that's very unfortunate. I bought the game. I want the game to succeed financially. It's a great game. I hope they can make a come back as I want this game supported in the future.

I'm sure Valve is paying the company some cash for offering it up for Free for 24 hours.

This game is truly worth the money. It's sad the game failed financially and the caused the devs to be looking for new work...

Now they made the game available offline to preserve the game forever, and instead of being thankful, some people are actually offended by having paid money for it before it will be free. More game companies should follow the lead of these developers when shutting down games. Looking at you Ubisoft....

I hope the devs find great new success because there was clear talent and love put into this game.

This is a trick you see here and there these days. They give it out for free, but only a few people with it sitting on a wishlist or their close friends are going to notice. It didn't even get posted to a free game discord channel I check in on.

Ideally it will generate a little bit of buzz from people playing it over the next few days, which may cause people to buy it during the summer sale. Another game called Content Warning used this trick to good effect.

Either way its better to treat this as a few people getting lucky instead of you missing out.
