Puzzle with concentric rings?

Anybody have any idea what this could be? In the demo area there are some puzzles with small yellow horizontal concentric rings. I don't recall seeing this in the playtests and think that'll reveal itself as we get the full game and unlock the remaining puzzle types we don't have access to but I'm still curious as to people's thoughts on this.

Those are bugged Armillary Rings that haven't "taken form" yet. You can't interact with them, but eventually it'll turn into an actual Armillary Rings puzzle.
