Fractal puzzles
Is there a trick to the fractal puzzles? I've only attempted two and while the first one was easy, the second one I had to give up on after something like 10 minutes and it was very frustrating. The pattern was so variable I could not find the right arrangement no matter how much I fiddled with it, and while I got it to look similar to the target on many occasions, the game never accepted it as the solution.

I've only ever solved them by accident. They're, in my opinion, the worst puzzles in the game thus far as they just don't feel like a puzzle. Just random fiddling about. They're really directionless and that's quite frustrating.

Yeah that sounds about right from my experience. I think that second puzzle I did particularly just had too wide of a range of adjustment, with the pattern shifting being very unintuitive so there's very little to guide you towards the correct position. It might as well be random.

Fractals were my lowest mastery in the game during all the tests. Just not a rewarding or fun "puzzle" in my opinion. I would have enjoyed even a sliding block puzzle OF a fractal more than trying to match the fractal itself by just randomly moving my mouse around...

It's tough because there's no feedback when you're close to the right spot, unlike for example the geoglyphs and lenses.

Fractal Puzzle: These are simply just based on X & Y grid placement, where you find the one part then modify the other to match, very simple once you solve a few, I have had no issues with it

I wouldn't call it simple at all. As I mentioned before, the adjustments along each axis (at least for some puzzles) are so variable and may even contain repeating patterns, so you're basically completely blind even if you're right next to the answer. The first one I did felt reasonably intuitive like you mention, but even then it took quite a bit of trial and error to narrow down the correct position.

solved around 10 today, just be slow and follow pattern

I find the error margin actually quite forgiving... if you're close but you don't get it, try a full rotation... there's another placement in that X-Y grid that looks similar but totally in a different place... you'll probably spot the difference in a different detail or color, and if you're moderately close to the targetted image, you'll automatically get it.

I think the key is rotation. If your pattern looks close or the same, but its rotation is off a bit, rotate the puzzle a bunch in the desired direction, using some point of reference, and only then try and finely adjust to get the shape. It's hard to rotate without messing the shape up so focus on rotation first.

Rotation? What are you talking about? Is there some new mechanic that wasn't in the demo?
