speedrunners.exe is a Trojan virus?

So I'm just minding my own business, and my antivirus starts going crazy and saying that I have a trojan virus. So I'm checking to see what is going on, and it says that speedrunners.exe is a trojan. So, I had no choice but to delete it.

Is this happening to anyone else?

We added obfuscation in the game (mixing up the code basically) to make hacking of the game client harder. Some virus scanner however panic over this because they also have a harder time inspecting the file.

The game is not a trojan, I'm pretty sure you can let the game pass by the antivirus. :)

It's a False Positive. Basically the way it's coded makes some anti-virus programs think that SpeedrRunners is trojan but it's not. Don't worry about it all it's normal and has been brought up in random posts for a while now!

how do you know its not?
I guess you're excluding the RAT it installs, bitcoin mining in background and the boot sector virus

This happened to be, I just basically undid my realtime shield (I have Webroot Secure Anywhere) And it let me play, I had to reinstall the game like, A LOT, but I got it to work. :)

I know I'm a little late, but I have had SR on my PC for a while now and my Antivirus just said that there was a file called Trojan.Generic (followed by several numbers) inside of the program.

just got that message today from my Kaspersky Internet Security 2015. First time i got a (false?) warning since i use steam, so i think being careful isnt the baddest decision before iam sure i can ignore it.

You can ignore it really. It's because of some anti hacking measures we have applied to the game.

Perhaps you can find a newer another method for your piracy protection..
Because at the date of today, my AntiVirus (Kaspersky Internet Security 2015) has "repaired" an infection in the same file when downloaded by Steam: HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic

File is .....\Steam\SteamApps\downloading\207140\SpeedRunners.exe

And then ask me to reboot my computer for finish the repairing... Not serious.. I have plenty of games and your game SpeedRunner do that already 5 times (nearly each updates)...

It's boring.. Since your game is good, very good aswell, and this false-positive can prevent some casual buyers to play to your game !

Well, fix it or send a report to Kaspersky Lab, Symantec, etc.. don't know, but do it please.
