Mac and Linux open beta
It has been a long wait but it's finally here! We'll be running an open beta for Mac and Linux the coming month or so.
If you are interested in participating you can activate the 'platform' beta.

Go to SpeedRunners in your Steam library > Right click SpeedRunners > Properties > 'BETAS' tab > Select 'Platform' there > 'LOCAL FILES' tab > Verify integrity of game cache...

If you have problems with the Mac or Linux build, post below here mentioning which OS you're using and a log file is always helpful.

The log file on Mac can be found at ~/Library/Application Support/SpeedRunners/SpeedRunnersLog.txt
The log file on Linux can be found at ~/.local/share/SpeedRunners/SpeedRunnersLog.txt

Thanks for this! Already loved the game but love it even more now I don't have to boot into Windows to play it. I'm about to try it out, will post any issues.

It runs really smoothly but unfortunately it did crash in between maps. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04. Again, thanks for the port and hopefully the log file is helpful.

Great! It works pretty well (Debian unstable). Graphics and input (keyboard) work perfectly, but the sound effects are a bit weird. Music sounds fine but sound effects are too loud and a bit distorted or low quality or something like that.

The sound effects that are most effected are the Countdown clock, the slipstream speed boost thingy and the XP counter. They're not bad, per se, but different than the windows version and sound less 'smooth'.

Yeah, it happens to me too. It's like a 'chorus' effect on some sounds.

You can try removing the OpenAL libs found in the game's lib/ and lib64/ directories and see if it's an issue that's versioned; this could be a recent change in the game as well if it's been a while since you've run the Windows version.

Have been testing the Mac version for two days and I really feel like there is massive input delay. I cant even hit the swing ceiling with the hook on the right time.Also, sometimes I let go of swing button but the swing still goes on, therefore resulting me in going to space.

Yep, just tried that and the input lag is gone but horrible screen tearing. Same computer under windows dont have screen tearing at all. Also, not sure if its an issue with SR or Steam for mac, but the ingame overlay (shift+tab) and show fps at the top of the screen are not working.

I can't load any official workshop level.
Subscribed maps from Steam workshop load fine. My saved levels load fine.
It's just the Tutorial & Official maps (i.e. Metro, Library, etc).

Does that happen to anyone else?
