Remove quick chat from right stick?
How do I disable the quick chat from the right stick on controllers? For some reason in Speedrunners it is insanely sensitive, I don't even need to brush against it for the chat to open. When that happens it cancels out the grapple, and has screwed me over in many situations.

Please, don't tell me just to use the keyboard. I can't platform on keyboards. Yeah, gitgudme

Just go into your text files and erase the phrases

Thank you. I thought I had seen something like this a bit ago but I couldn't find it.

Alright, unfortunately that doesn't really do anything. While it is nice to not annoy others with constant random "Wow!"s, the quick chat menu still opens up, it just has no text. It will still interrupt my grapple.

Looking at what's going on, it seems to be a problem with either your controller or your emulating software. In SpeedRunners, when opening either quick-chat or the normal chat, the game "saves" the last buttons you were pressing and keeps them pressed for you as long as either chat remains open. If your character un-grapples when the chat opens, it means that your controller or the software ignores input to square/(X)/etc. when your right stick recieves input. It's possible that the right stick could blip signals for only a fraction of a second, so it may be unnoticable on other games.

I figure a new controller would likely solve it, I just don't have 40-60 bucks at the moment for one. I was just hoping I could unbind it in this game specifically without having to disable the whole stick using the emulator.

I hate how the 360 controller feels. I've been using a PS style controller for the past 2 decades, it's what I'm comfortable with, it's what I like.

R1/L1 > R2/L2 for shooting. Triggers suck. It's a controller, not a gun. Ha.

hahaha i feel the same. i've been using dual shock 1 and 2 forever, and triggers suck so bad. but i use R1 to shot and L1 for boost. I used to play with a Logitech F310 for 29€ because it's more similar to PS controllers. i'm a hater of xbox and its controllers, but a week ago i got a very cute Afterglow for xbox 360 when my old one died because it was cheap, 25€. i'm getting used to it. slowly. but as a very closed minded player for these things i tell you it can be done xD

also, you may like to know most of players play on a keyboard and many of them say it's better than controller for this game. we controller players are very few here

For some reason I just can't get comfortable with the keyboard for platformers. I've tried for years. I can do it, and get to a point where I'm pretty good with it, but it just doesn't feel right at all.

wait, but you need an emulator to use PS3 controller on this game, right?

instead of that, use Xpadder. it allows you to emulate a keyboard on your controller, i use it to play with ps1 and ps2 controllers, and i don't even turn on the joysticks with it, so you can just set your keys and joysticks will do nothing at all

You don't need an emulator for a PS3 controller on this game. I'll check that out though, thanks.

that's bad, that way you will be using keyboard and controller at the same time. PS1-2 controllers are not recognized at all by the game, so i can make it thinks these are a keyboard with that app.

do you keep some PS2 or PS1 controllers yourself? you can get an usb adapter for these for 3-5€, and if you are from PS1 generation you will love to use the old school controller to play on pc

i'm sorry i'm running out of ideas. but i'd like to let you know after a week using the Afterglow 360 i'm getting used to it and i'm finding myself a faster playing style with it. i know your feeling of getting a hands cancer if ever use a xbox controller, but here i go xD
