Controller Not Recognized

For a while after I got SpeedRunners, my xbox 360 controller worked fine. Now, however, the game does not recognize the controller. Whenever I start the game and I try to use it, nothing happens. I looked at the control settings and found it had reset to the keyboard, and I have found no way to change this. It is not the controller itself that has problems because it still works on other games just fine.

Please advise.

Hey, I think I just had the same problem. Both my Xbox360 controllers simply stopped working in Steam games (but not in Steam itself) after they did work flawlessly for years.

I just fixed it a few hours ago, and what I did was to:
1. right click the game in my Steam library,
2. go to "Edit Steam Controller Configuration",
3. a new window opens, click "Browse Configs" on the bottom, and
4. select "SpeedRunners official Xbox configuration"

I assume there was some Steam update or so that requires you to assign controller configurations for every game, even those that worked right out of the box before.

I don't have an option to open the "Edit Steam Controller Configuration" window. Is that in the right-click menu for you?

It's on the right hand 'links' menu on the game page. Alternatively you can use big picture mode, there is a guide here on how to do that:
