Controller not working

my controller is not working after this update.

Same. Every new Update, it feels like they break controllers more and more

run big picture
go to settings
controller settings
make sure "x box configuration support" is checked.

I ran in big picture mode and controller worked. I then exited big picture and ran in normal steam mode, controller now works.

Just chiming in with the same issue. I use Xbox One S controllers and they work for EVERY other game I've tried. I've tried Big Picture, I've tried the +legacyinput launch option, I've removed, restarted, added, etc. and the controllers just refuse to work in game/menu.

Ok, so for me it definitely helped to check the 'xbox configuration support' checkbox (for xbox 360 controller).

I have two xbox one controllers. Tried everything, they still don't work at all. Very disappointed.
