Base Stealing

I am stuck at the base stealing stat to be called up because i simply can not figure out how to steal a base with the keyboard.Upon purchasing the game i found it has no manual and the control setup page is bleak at best.Now unless i misssed something i am in need a of vetran player with the keyboard to take a min to explain to myself and maybe other how to steal with a keyboard.

Really need to include an online manual with these dl's.This guessing and trying to make something happen with a keyboeard is crap.

You are able to see all of the controls in game. Options --> My Controller --> Controller setup.
Hold down tab or control and try and time your release with the pitcher throwing the ball.

^ @mike I can get to those directions but they tell me nothnijg but how to lead off.I tried your sugestion and have played over 300 games now and my guy wont even start to steal anything.there has to be more to just hold down tab and releasing.

Game has come to a head because i can't steal 1 base: (

Press control a few times to lead off, then hold down control and when u see the pitcher start his wind-up let go and he should steal.

It really is as simple as that. Did you get it working?

Not yet when i push control all he does is take a few steps back them forward.then i release control and he never starts to run.He just sits there.

Dont know what i am doing wrong but gets frustrating when all thats holding me back from the big show is 10 sb's : ( Will let you's know how it goes.still playing and trying.

I'm having the same problem. I'll let you know if I can get my guy to run. I'm trying to steal on every pitch when there is an open base in front of me. This is so frustrating.

Ok figured it out finally.I tried Left tab then Left control.No results guy wont even take 1 step.Then i tried Left shift and it works.So directions are off or somethings amiss.Going into options and settings it still says Left crtl will lead off and steal.It's Left shift for me.

The players baserunning ratings changed this problem for me. The player's awareness rating I think has a connection with the base stealing.

to be totally honest I don't think 2k sports gives a darn about the PC versions of their games in MLB 2k10 the keyboard is useless and only a few control mappings can be changed sucessfully the rest just screw the controls up, oh well maybe 2k should just stick to platforms until they realize there is a difference between a Keyboard and a 360 controler!
