Where are the Outrange and Aura items?
I only played Overdrive for a short period of time, so I don't know how to unlock them. Are they random drops or are they in specific secret places?

Theyre random drops. Bosses often drop them but from my experience so far, every enemy has a chance to drop an item. Also, the higher the difficulty, the higher the lvl of the items will be.

They change your ult. you mean the passives? They give buffs like more exp, more coins, more atk, more def.... And if you play online, those buffs stacks so if you want a truckload of EXP, bring players with an exp passive.

I heard there's a shadow attack one, is there a guide or video for these anywhere?

Theres no shadow afaik. For the video, cant say for sure but I doubt it. I mean, the game just came out today.
Have you gotten to level 6 on harder difficulties? I was glad to see the maze was gone but want to confirm it's gone for good, haha.

I cleared Nightmare+, which is the highest difficulty and yes, other than the left and right gates I mentioned before, its a one way road until you reach the exit. Its not a maze anymore.

What your likely thinking of, is a skill tree upgrade for shadow attacks.

By the way, how does the alternate stage system (or URA stage system) work?

You need to beat the game once to unlock items and Secret URA area. Playing on harder difficulty has a chance of defeated enemies drop outrange and aura items.
You can't swap items during a stage. you can change items in the setup menu.

There was an original phantom breaker game a few years ago. This is the updated/remaster version.

The Outrange and Aura items were a thing in that version, but you could only carry one of each

I figured that much out, what I was wondering how to trigger the URA areas, wait, can you carry every Outrange and Aura item once you pick them up once? (As in on the setup menu for the character that got the items, can all be carried or is there a hard cap on how many of each you can carry)?
Once you find an item, you keep it. Iirc, theres 5 outrange items and 5 aura items and each have 5 levels.
