How to fly using a trash can?

I'm currently watching a friend stream this game, she picked up a crumpled soda can, went into an empty green trash can and kept jumping, somehow making it fly temporarily, can someone figure out how to make this work more effectively?

You can "fly" by using any throwable object.

Im not sure is it bug or is it intended thing, but in order to "fly" with thrown objects you need some good timing.

You throw object and almost instantly you jump forward. If you get timing right you will basically throw yourself forward. It requires some practice, but when you get timing right you will be able to do it consistently and pretty easily.
