You have a very fast hitting attack with high area.
Blizzard, Bunnies, Beams (with high area investment), Poison Cloud, Ray of Fire, Ray of Doom, Tornado, Death Vortex, Combustion, Unholy Aura, Beacon of Light and Napalm Blast
Some of those need heavy invest in area, but the amount of hits per second is insane.
Area is in general a good idea if you want to cover the screen.
They all need massive area investment (which the beam variants don't), but they can do stupid damage once they're hitting things offscreen, as well as load enemies up on things like slow and fragility before your big hitters take effect. Oh, and make goblins a non-thing.
Chaos variant is king.
