Endless or overlord?

I might be missing something in game, but what's the difference between endless and overlord modes?

They both seem the same to me, just one is in a smaller arena.

Is there a description of them in game?

Hi,

in Overlord you have to kill a small number of Elites to spawn the Boss Waves,
which makes this mode alot faster compared to Endless.

In Endlees you kill the usual number of enemies per Wave.

Hi there, how come I don't always get the chance to choose between endless and overlord at the end of the first round? Sometimes I only get the endless portal.

You have to beat the 1st round under a specific timer to get both Portals.

It used to be
Overlord under 13 minutes
Endless under 14 minutes

Somewhere else was stated, that the timers got increased, but I cant confirm how the new times work exactly.

pretty sure I was beating the first round in less than 10 minutes but I still didn't always get overlord. But I could be wrong, I'll check again. Thanks!

i personally can adfvice just from my exp to play overlord. i came back after a long break and have to get all weapons to +20. So just pick the Shards=minerals thingy. Overlord is way faster, and i afk through it 24/7 expect when i have to go onto the next stage ofc. Since its such a small area , you get mineral-nodes faster and since the Map itself is quicker you kill& spawn lords faster aswell .

Idk if thats correct , its just from what i experienced so far.

Idk if resource gain is different, but after a while it's not an issue.

I only play Overlord now because it is like 3-4 times faster than regular for a similar amount of xp and materials. The main mode feels way too slow by the time you've maxed a character or two.

well sounds a bit boring.. but since im farming im always taking omnipotent..of course its a bit "lucky" or takes some time to get what i want.

usually i play Runes :

Lords = Minerals
50% Minerals
omnipotent

And then Ready for battle ( quite nice to get skills early ) + 7 th Skill + Synergy + Multi cast

I aim for Glacial Affinity +Scent of Blood + Shieldwall . These are the 3 Cores. Usually i go with Light Beam as my bosskiller , one Ability to heal preferly Smite (earth shield fine also/the slam one which gives +hp when hitting bleeding enemys )

that makes 5 spells . Then i make sure to pick 1 Ability up with Finesse gain , i aim for one that casts quick , preferly giving me 2%(2 Stacks ) . And the 7th ability i normally aim for Beacon of light for that juicy aoe + Debuff .

its maybe every 10th run im unlucky with spells. I usually take around 40-45 Mintues to get to Overlord 8/9 , i usually end my runs at 6-7 , since the scaling is getting through the roof if im not actually playing and focusing Lords. And by afk i really mean afk. I let myself get completly thrown through the room but it doesnt matter with all that Armor+Heal .

The only thing you nee dto pay attention is to get atleast 1 Slow Passive, Either when you crit or attacks apply it. I sometimes pick early in the game a Ice Skill to make sure the chance is higher , that it shows up @passives.

hope its somewhat understandable . Right in this Moment im doing the same tactic, even playing without Shieldwall ( since i was unlucky so far ) and sitting in Overlord 5 on Curse 44 ( thats what i always play with max elite spawn etc. ) after 22Minutes

https://prnt.sc/2hYoFbwnmm_I After i get my stacks of Finesse etc. and Buffs are up. Of course Shieldwall is Missing. I would normally get rid of Ravanging Strike ( it only gives 1 Finesse stack and is slower than Arcane Slash which gives 2 Stacks . And normally i would want Smite instead of Earthshield ( Smite is more dmg , Healing is i guess the same and more excorcism proccs then for even more heal + dmg ) .

Idk if thats really good what im building there , but i never have trouble to get quick and safe into Overlord 7+8 and im restarting then anyway. And i do it with Characters with 0 Points in the Skill tree aswell , so.. im satisfied .

oh and not to mention. I did finish 2 of all characters only ( leveling one by one up to 170 ) and haven't bought a single Weapon upgrade yet.

I never really do anything other than OL and i have plenty of resources for making weapons and upgrading. I imagine you get more from endless but you get most of your resources from using runes which generate resources from killing bosses which is probably gonna be faster in OL.

Well at some point you have so much aoe , you clear the whole map permanently. But what gives you the Most are the Lord-Stones. i get around 2k-2400 ~ per Stage . And i usually clear 1 Stage in 2 mostly 3 Minutes once im in the Overlord stages. But Yeah.. Just started to upgrading my first Weapon and on 14 to 15 i already need like 10000 Gold.. So idk if i still aim for the goal to get all on 20 phaha .

Vex is prob right with that endless gives more , since the rounds are longer.. but im 100000% sure , if you speak about effience - Overlord is the way to go 100000%

I guess my point was that I don't remember seeing the ores appearing on OL. It was just a circle arena with no terrain, and no resource spawns outside what you get from bosses and souls. Maybe I just missed them in the chaos?

I've tended to avoid OL for the entirety of this game's usage of it, and looking like you get resource screwed definitely didn't encourage me to play it.
