Difference between red and blue portals?

Greetings all. Just picked up the game over Christmas and got extra portals for the first time. I've only gotten the barbarian to level 7. What do the portals do?

If you pick red that increases difficulty and the # of bosses per dungeon.
If you pick Blue, it will remain the same as you played the first time.

Example: If you start at lvl ? and pick blue, the # of bosses will never change.
If you pick red, after the first rd, the # of bosses will increase by one.

Red is for soul stone farming (you need a lot, late game)
Blue is for crafting resource farming (minimal use)

That portal ends the run. If it is the one in the middle of red and blue. There is another portal that shows up if you do those holidays event.

If you're going for achievements, there's usually no reason to go beyond Endless/Overlord 3 and you're just screwing around.

what about the yellow portal with an infinite symbol? I just assumed that's the same thing as red except more room to run around

That's the endless mode portal, it used to be purple.

Why dont they just add info, smh, they literally have space on the right side of the screen as much as they want
