tbh I didnt feel the first weapon and immediatly swapped out both first skills. At the latest weapon the tentacles seem to do dmg in my runs.
On the other hand the tentacles are basically pool noodles. Slow swinging pool noodles at that.
If he is a joke character then I will say this: He adds a lot of goofy mechanics and abilities to the game and it was a success! He also adds a fresh style since his abilities and strength are huge question marks.
Curse on its own is not strong and I'm confused as to why it has a cap buuuuut, the cursed ship can easily 1 shot void Lords at curse 62 pretty early on. I usually hate trait skills that make you stand in a circle for a given amount of time and that hasn't changed. But, I like that it's pretty fast and that I can save the wheel for when I really need it.
My only issue with the captain so far is how his ancient power skills work. Only one of them, 2nd weapon, stacks at a decent speed. The others feel like they need tweaking.
The problem is that the ammunition mechanic is broken in it of itself(which is in Blast, that also contains shatter, a strong debuff). Also building for crit can work for any character, not just him. I think maybe you might've misunderstood what we meant by him being weak. We are talking about his skills and abilities by themselves.
The first weapon is terrible because the second skill locks the ammunition mechanic to that skill and the damage it does is no where near worth it.
The second weapon had potential but, the second skill scales horribly because it's damage is super low and skills that have multipliers based on your stats have been nerfed like crazy.
The third weapon has a good second skill for building bleed damage but, since he can use thrust skills he has flurry which is just better.
The forth weapon is mid at best and the weapon doesn't even give extra crit built in to help with the high crit damage it gives.
His character skills. two of them aren't great and the one that buffs, other characters can use that better than he can. His Bomb rolls around and then explodes which is alright, but it's slow and other skills that stun are faster(e.g. Rupture). The third skill is just useless and is a "swing" attack that doesn't work with ANY of his weapon types.
His new "Curse" mechanic summons tendrils that do little to no damage. In the end, he relies on the generic skills and generic Overpowered mechanics that anyone can use to be "strong". The way I determine a character's strength is I always ask this question: Would I use skills from this character's weapons or personal skills on another character or for a build? For the Cursed Captain, Kraken's Rum is the ONLY skill I would take from him and even that's debatable.
i agree with this message.
Hmm, if its not even showing u on the character list this leads me to believe you are probably on the wrong version of the game, one where the update is not present. Most current version is Early Access EA update 14f2.
I will send all of the feedback here about the captain to the team so we can all read it as well.
