What does the number underneath the gilkin icon mean?

When you upgrade the Myrmidon's weapon to artifact rarity you get gilkins that helps you in various ways.

I'm now using the weapon that gives you bleed gilkins, though I never see them actually attack or hit enemies and apply bleed. The mage gilkin heals and the gilkin with the banner buffs but I see no bleed stacks anywhere?

Just found out that the number is the stacks of artifact power needed to cast the gilkin ability. at 50 stacks it procs, in this case it applies the bleed.
