Look, I Know They're Called "Pillars of Despair" But Like...

...I counted eleven.

I like pillars conceptually, don't get me wrong. They provide a nice incentive to move around the map. But they can get a little out-of-hand with the spawn rates at times, and if you have a bad run going, they just make it EXPONENTIALLY WORSE. Especially the new Pillars of Protection.

Can we tie the spawns of these Pillars to, like, your level? Give them a chance to spawn with each level-up? Then they can be somewhat of a check to players who are scaling fast.

While I've got your ear, it'd be nice if the purple pillars (I think those ones ARE actually called the "Pillars of Despair") would simply increase the chance of dying enemies spawning meteors on kill, rather than spawning their own meteors independently. Because as it stands, just two of these guys can SATURATE the battlefield.

This feels rigged. playing 15 minutes and only kill a single boss makes me think you are actively avoid to try and kill them. You are hitting them for a couple of thousand damage and they got roughly 350000 hp, no way it would take you that long.

i usually go out of my way to break them as soon as they spawn given i already got the achievement for clearing in under 8 mins, and i dont do endless or overlord after i got the achieves for them.
I would prioritize the blue ones they make you do less dmg. I have not played the update since it got reverted so i could be wrong.

I assure you I wasn't. Although I did not set myself up for success.

It was Curse 7 on the newbeginnings build, and I was trying out the Spellblade's second weaponset and trying to build into Swing for Finesse stacks and capitalizing on Subdue.

I hadn't unlocked any points in the Spellblade's tree for it, but I figured I could compensate with an ASPD and crit-maxing build.

I didn't get any of the stat upgrades I was looking for and the plan went to ♥♥♥♥ by the first boss. I have never ate dirt that hard tbh.

But the point nonetheless stands, even though this is an extreme example.

Yeah always prioritize Pillars of Protection or you're gonna be exacerbating the fight.

Trouble is I couldn't kill the Pillars of Protection. Poison Boy would wall me out of them before I could take them out.

This was an exceptionally bad run. I might try it again when I got some actual points in Spellblade...

Oh i have not played spellblade in update but i usually make a build based on the starting weapon and ability, since their is a rune that gives you the weapons second ability at start of match. Although i dont try for the meta build i limit myself to the characters abilities and the standard pool. If you need abilities from other characters to be viable thats bad balancing. i dont know what build you used but i generally try to buff dmg of skills or stack debuffs that make me do more dmg. Although you can use a rune that allows you to pick abilities from other characters if you want.
For example an arcane build i would only use arcane abilities
or a bomb build where i only use bomb weapons or a buff if there is only 5 bomb weapons.

I almost forgot if you want certain ability types to be weighted you should go for prestige 60 on characters so they can be added to the rune pool. The skill inclination rune

I usually build for debuffs too - and those are only better in the newbeginnings patch with the new upgrades - but I wanted to try and see how the new buff system would scale in the build.

The answer - right now, at least? Not well.

They have upgrades to chain into eachother like debuffs but as far as I've seen, that's it. You can't really scale them, and I think that really holds them back as a build right now.

I've been using that too, but I started a fresh game for the newbegginings patch, so I'm missing a lot of my tree right now.

And don't worry about me - I went back with the Pyromancer and went Overlord 3 before I tapped out. I just think I need better base stats if I want to survive long enough to get that Spellblade build off the ground, but maybe Finesse-focus is just trash.

Oh i see i am not the type of person to make a new save for content, simply because i like playing other games. Once i get all achieves i usually just play a different game
