How do you activate the seals in the Frozen Wastelands?

I thought you had to kill a boss on the seal (did that, it activated) but then the next 3 bosses I did that with didn't activate the seals. But I did get them to activate. So what's the trick?

You have to go in order. Specifically, the order of gemstone color.
So Red > Blue > Yellow(more Orange on the map) > Green > Purple. It also forms a star.

Gotta match the colors too, which you probably did but just in case, first boss on red, second blue, third yellow, fourth green, last purple. Then at the end another portal will open up. It's another seasonal event like the mine cart one you also posted. There are guides to help too.

Because every boss drops certain color void essences, and each seal has the color of each void essence. So one might think hmmm if each seal has a color matching the void essences, maybe I'm supposed to kill them so the void essence matches the color of the seal. It's not even that hard of a puzzle. I looked it up though as I don't care for riddles/puzzles in games lol. I don't wanna waste my time doing it wrong, so I just looked it up. But when I did look it up, I thought to myself "oh it is exactly what I thought it would be and now I've robbed myself of the good feeling of figuring it out myself" lol.

I don't see how I would have known the gemstones had an order.

Is the loot from the boss that is summoned worth the trouble? I just killed a blue gem boss near the seal but not close enough, apparently, so I have to try again.

The bosses always drop their souls in the same order.
Red Blue Yellow Green Purple
If you look at your main menu where they are displayed, this could give a hint.

If you clear the event and are at least Curse Intensity 34 you will unlock 3 Achievements with new skills.
