to answer your question - all stats regarding multicst, stack.
There is a supplied googledoc for accuracy, but for some this might be overwhelming, so i'll type this here for those that have issues reading it.
its based on the previous cast
First cast doesn't use it, that is based on frequency of cast speed
the second spell is based on the % chance of the multicast
So lets say, your spell says it has 250% multicast
Keep in mind, Casting multiple versions has a 60% reduction for every proceeding cast, that 60% is based on the value of the previous spell, in this case, 250% (250 is it value ignore the %) - so it'll be 250 minus 60% = 100 - this new value is the new % - 100%
Spell (250%)
Spell fires < Multicast check, do i fire again? (250%) ✓
Spell fires again (Second) < Multicast check, do i fire again? (250 minus 60% - 100%) ✓
Spell fires again (Third) < Multicast check, do i fire again? (100 minus 60% - 40%) - roll dice
Now, if it successfully casts the 4th spell at 40% it WILL do a multicast check again, because the spell fired, however, trying to get a fifth cast?
Spell fires again (fourth) < Multicast check, do i fire again? (40 minus 60% - 16%) - roll dice
You now have a 16% chance of firing a fifth spell.
HOWEVER
The current game has a MAXIMUM of 5 casts for each time you cast the spell for the first time.
This is why making the cast time of the spell faster is just as important as multicasting them.
Sorry to hijack this thread but i had another question regarding how multicast works with skills like combustion and bladestorm (and simillar skills like this where it is a static field projected over the screen). I always wondered if you cast this skill as well multiple times with enough multicast. I always thought it did but that the visual effects are layered ontop of eachother making it seem like there aren't multiple bladestorms or combustion fields working at the same time.
And you said that each proceeding cast has a 60% reduction. If you use the rune that allows for more multicast procs, to what percentage is it reduced ? 40% ?.
250 - (60% of 250, or 150) = 100
you're not stupid, you just forgot the %, its all good ^_^
250 minus 60'%' leaves 100, this new value, 100, becomes the new cast %, so 100%.
Thank you for sharing good community content, really appreciate that! I was about to share that google docs myself if no one else did, haha! You have yourselves a lovely day!
