How to unlock Death Knight?
I unlocked every character so far, but the Curse V is almost impossible?! There is no skill scaling from having any progress so its pure luck based. I tried it different times with different chars and loadouts, but the amount of enemies is just overwhelming. Also lack of regen health and an absurd low time limit for those 3 bosses per wave. On top you have to kill those respawning turrets or they kill you with endless artillery barrages...

Any suggestions?`

Having 8 bosses at once is insane..
And there seem to be some kind of minibosses on top...

Was reading another post that suggested conditions as they scale better, also an executioner rune, will have to google how to unlock that one, the Chaosmancer seems like a good fit since he can spam all conditions at random, was able to beat the game under 10 mins using him.

But yeah, I agree, it's ridiculous, not fun at all, I can manage to stay alive by dashing all....the....time, but it's aggravating. the bosses are ok, can be fun seeing 3 at a time, but those damned turrets are annoying as ♥♥♥♥!

And thats the problem. There are only a FEW skills which allow these combos (call it meta) and put all other classes/skills into oblivion because they cant compete. I finally found a build with my assassin which is quite good with these combos, plus he as a elite mob stun skill, which are annoying af. with him i finally beat curse 5 to unlock the death knight. he is another level though...

I mean it's a challenge character to unlock. After that you can pick and choose which curses to enable.

Elaborate? What skills to pick?
For a sure win I just play Necromancer, with Golems, the invokes just obliterate everything and take the aggro on bosses. I personally never bought health, damage block, armor or anything in this game

Chaotic missile, Arcane power, Bloodlust, Might, Shadow Orb(if you find it, not required but ridiculously good at stacking doom)
The rest is up to you, doesn't matter much. Chaos totem is decent, chain chaos thingie is decent as well.
Just don't use minions cus they ♥♥♥♥ up your kiting

Chaos with chaos skills is an easy clear, don't need any buffs or other schools.

Beam elementalist gets online in power pretty quickly and is very consistent. To be clear it also doesn't rely on runes at all to be effective. I was able to clear curse 5 on attempt 1 and I had pretty average luck with upgrades that run.

Final build will be something like this:

lightning beam - light beam - arcane beam - lightning call - multicast - might

The beams are great consistent damage and lightning call is extremely good burst dps to melt bosses. The multicast skill (I think it has a different name but cant remember it) I find is always worth keeping on virtually any build. Most replaceable part of this would be might - it doesn't increase your dps as much as multicast does until you already have a really high multicast rate and it's worth considering taking some kind of utility spell like void.

For stats, prioritize multicast, attack speed, damage, crit chance/damage. Area is not as important as scaling your damage. Scaling the damage of lightning call is probably your highest priority as it's an amazing damage spell, and from there prioritize frontal/lasting/magical dps passives as that will affect all of your beam spells. Make sure to pick up green rarity or higher health/movement speed along the way. +1 to dodge count is autoinclude and you should probably take it even over good damage passives (you can pretty much dodge infinitely with 4 or more dodges, and 3 dodges gives you way better mobility than base 2 dodges as dodge count cooldowns are independent of each other and don't change)

Early on try to get lightning call asap. If you have to choose a spell that isn't in the final build make sure it has as many of the "frontal/lasting/magical" tags as possible so you can have those passives start showing up. If you don't have any good options there, pick up a lightning spell as lightning covers lightning beam and lightning call.

Hope this helps for you and for anyone else here having trouble

A bad news today, the damage of Lightning call has been reduced to 80 from 120. Sad

Yeah, I replaced that immediately with another utility skill with either the multicast or ol reliable Bloodlust buff. Picked up multi-cast buff whenever I'm at 3rd boss but still have low cast speed, kinda neat that new buff.

Yeah I am shelving this for a while cause man not really fun spamming dodge as fast as possible because stopping is death and just being whittled down by things I can't even see or dodge sending me to space for some reason so I land in the middle of every single aoe circle in existence.
SpacePanda001 Nov 9, 2022 @ 8:41pm
yeah, at curse V my fps went to freaking 3 and i couldnt even move without jerking violently one way or another, the scaling is waaay too code based and not experiential. def feels like one of those 'viral' early access game issues where the dev team is just running downhill ahead of its player base in an attempt to create end game content.
