Difference between money maker and generator?

What's the difference between these two? I know the money maker gives you points to make more units but I don't understand what the generator does. thanks

The moneymaker grants additional credits for your entire team, while the generator provides more power (blue bar ui at the bottom middle of screen) for your entire team.

Also, mind that money maker actually takes a bit of energy to run, too. Generator both gives you bigger energy reserves (blue bar) and faster energy generation.

When you build a unit, it costs power too (see stats of a unit by hovering mouse over it). You can't build new units if blue bar at the bottom is empty.

So, power generator is required when you build a lots of units.
