Crash?
Whenever i start AirMech, it crashs on me, I'm rather disappointed because this game looks terribly fun. So please would anyone offer advice, or tell me if i'm doing anything wrong. I downloaded it correctly. An my system requirements meet the specifics.

I would recommend contacting support@carbongames.com for help.

You can also try the non-Steam PC version to see if it's something with Steam overlay crashing (our most common crash is related to that) or if there's some other problem. If the PC version also crashes, that's not good.

As was suggested, try contacting support if both versions crash on startup. http://airmech.com gives you a choice of versions to use.

Cool i get to meet a developer *.* Really cool, you care about the community enough to comment. Thanks, an i well try this. Wish Solstice Arenas Devs would comment on a few discussions. Hope to see the future of this game be prosperous, an hopefully i'll be of this future. Or in this future, haha.

No problem, I try to stop by sometimes, but we do mainly focus our support on our own forums (since that also helps players from other platforms) and email support through support@carbongames.com :)

CarbonJames, Wanna add me up? Would be great to talk or whatever, Perhaps play in game when you get the chance, You're a phenomanol developer, Though at first glance i did not find air mech very appealing, due to its specifics. But after my second glance, i realized how greatly designed it is. I'm working in Graphics Design, An i find the work you've done to be really great. But yeah i'll download the site version see if that'll work, pretty disappointed the steam version crashed. Best part about steam is the fact you can voice chat extremely smooth, an the fact you can open theme during game. Though i'm hearing alot of bad things about AirMech mods, Though i can't say i'd feel any negativity for a moderator nor administrator, as i've been in both positions on decently populated multiplayer games. An i understand the hardships. Seeming this games in early developement it'll more then likely be alot more stressful on mods with questions then it would be on normal players. As a moderator is here to moderate an help, but questions regarding issues with the game an other such things, i'd feel is more up toi a administrator to answer. As a moderator well only direct you towards support, an as a player, an as a moderator once before, Its a hard job. An i know people ask an beg mods, even though they've given there answers. As i've done it myself before. Begged an asked a mod. Though knowing what i was doing. It was more a persistance rather then a annoyance.

We actually have some great mods in AirMech. They're very helpful and set good examples for the community to follow. We have mods online at just about all times of the day/night. I'm sure some people have hard feelings against the moderators for whatever mutes they may have enforced, but most of them will tell you that they don't like having to mute people any more than those people want to be muted. As you said, being a moderator can be a hard job.

Thanks, and I'd just hang out in chat a bit and you'll see the mods in action. Thousands of players are in and out of chat every day, and the cases we've seen where people are really mad at the mods are because, well, the mods muted them. And we look up what they were doing, and yes they deserved to be muted.

Some people just want to watch the world burn, and cause trouble. While many games don't care, and see every player as a potential customer, so they don't control chat, we're not like that. Of course, if someone is already a customer, I'm much more patient and understanding, and try to get people to see why they are being distruptive.

But, if a player is brand new, didn't make an effort to even play the game, and is being very disruptive in chat then I will make it clear quickly they should stop. And if they don't, then they lose the ability to ruin the game for our polite players.

They call it F2P, but I see it more like a demo/trial. And that works both ways--you get to decide if you like the game before spending a penny, but we also have the opportunity to decide that we don't want you as a player/customer, for the greater good of the community.

Less than 0.05% of players are banned, but some of them really do like to go out in a blaze of glory. As you've done moderation stuff yourself, I'm sure you understand. :)

Haha yeah of course, I've been introduced to many players like that. From small communitys to crazy large communities, I've modded a game called Battle of the immortals, Graal Online, Gaia Online, An a few others. They're not perfect game, there is no such thing as a perfect game, I've modded thousands, an admined fewer then 10. It's a hard job, An we have to enforce the rules no matter what. As equality comes first. Someone whoms being rude or mean to another player is unacceptable, though i feel the customer thing you stated is a bit.. Well rather blunt. As i'd feel each an every player needs to be treated equally, But i'm new to Steam, so things are different, an i understand the gaming environment.

Yeah, just being honest about the customer thing. In a traditional game, everyone is a customer. But in a F2P game, they are potential customers. If someone is causing trouble, I'm willing to say "look, it's just not working out, goodbye" and they can play one of the many other games out there. It's like walking into a restaurant and being rude, then acting surprised when the owner asks you to leave and refuses to serve you. That's the real world, and as long as we're a small indie and not a big publisher, we will continue to stay on the side of thinking of the greater good of our community.
