So just check it out and see--that's why it's free. :)
Can't see why you'd get sued but I will give it a try when my friends are around, I just wanted to know if it played like that because I loved the game as a kid. Granted it was a massive pain to control a large group of units but it was still amazing at the time.
There is thanks to emulators
The bare bones of herzog zwei and airmech are the same. You'll notice that both are hybird strategy games where unit management is handled in a special way.
You still have to fly a physical carrier over a fort or outpost and airlift your units out of it when you want to build new ones, and basically have to be above units to issue the other orders. Outposts are still captured with infantry, and you are limited in your own actions by an energy bar that only outposts or landing on the ground can refill.
Of course the old thing was quite a bit different. Both you and the enemy always had the same units in your loadout , landing to fight with your own unit is now effective on larger units than before, especailly in specific situations.
Oh, and there were no hotkey keybinds back on console, the lack of a respawn timer allowed you to exploit getting killed in ceirtain situations, lack of neutral units to delay taking neutral outposts made the early game into an unmanagble expansion race against humans and made cheese semi mandatory against ai, no minimap, etc.
