But the game's more enjoyable than others in the genre.
Problem is yes the gacha its dreadfull and pushes ppl of,the mobile port of the game is also not good i admit but you cant compare that to genshin since im dead sure mihoyo makes sure the phone version is top notch since thats most likely where they hit the most ToF does not.
As for the story its not all that bad (def seen worse) and im pretty sure ToF is still around since (least not anymore) there was no real or least decent Sci-fi anime online game (sure there is pso2 but thats more dressing game at this point) we see how badly it will do with some of the new stuff that comes now but again its far from fail there are companys that did worse with some games that died faster and didnt even had massive predatory gacha.
As for size of the game on PC ? im afraid games of today all be around 50 to 100 gigs range.
One of the reasons I think Tower of Fantasy is better than Genshin Impact is that the roadblocks to progressing in the story are or at least feel easier to get around.
"Failed" games do not generate profit in a first place.
It's not a B2P game, but a F2P service game - meaning if it would generate losses, then further development would be ceased long ago.
...
TLDR of what OP said: Game is not like Genshin/WuWa = game is bad.
This statement is further supported by his haterage towards MMO aspect (one of the biggest selling points of ToF), calling it: "completely pointless". Totally not biased.
The rest of his post is a mix of toxic-positivity about the game + some ridiculous rants, like: PC game having 90GB size in 2025... and lags on his unidentified iphone model with, I quote, "pretty good specs".
...
While some points could be agreed on (ex. weapon's powercreep), or be at least debatable... the overall post heavily lacks constructive-criticism.
It's being written in more of a hate train jargon manner, where the OP portrays his own views and opinions as actual facts, which is genuinely dishonest.
I agree with OP that the game could use more boss battles. But creating those without going into recolors is something not every dev out there is even capable of doing. It requires an extremely talented team of people to make something engaging for years, since that's the amount of time these games are expected to live. So instead we have teams that try to create things other than combat to try and keep their games at least varied.
PvP is yet another point most devs are simply unable to get right, even with enough data pointing at what players truly want from a pvp match. So we keep getting poor pvp in game after game, and players will flock to the games with whatever is close to what they want.
Now, back to this game, I see that the devs are at least making sure people can get and build more SSR weapons, having released some decent ones into the standard banner (like Pine Comet, Onyx Tortoise and Azure Dragon), giving players more than ample ways to farm for nucleus to roll the gacha, and currency to directly buy copies of already obtained weapons. Events have also given players good resources to build the rest of their gear (I have a bunch of unopened boxes with elemental focused gear), though I still lament that getting some things, like suppressor upgrades, are trickled down unless you join a crew.
Character visual customization is also pretty good, with a good selection of outfits, settings and accessories for your main character, and the ability to become any character you have unlocked while using any weapon you have on them, which is something I haven't seen anywhere else yet.
So all in all, this game may have some things that need work, but isn't so bad to come back to once in awhile, and even supporting the dev by buying a cosmetic or two.
Um yeah you still have an account. You can still transfer until April 24th. Still, if it ain't for you that's totally cool of course. But just don't say stuff that ain't true. You don't need to justify not playing this game.
