This is not true for me cz I dont really like wasting money on Gacha. But Genshin Impact is fine, cz you get the resources to get the character anyway. I played since the dragonspine update and I never spend a single penny on a character. But, I can still play it until the endgame and I have fun with it. I even got almost all five stars I want in my account now without even spending. It's almost a steal for me. Also, you dont really spend any money when maxing out their weapons. As long as you have the resources saved up.
Also, I dont really like making the content DLC bacause like I said above, I dont really like spending money, and if theres DLC, you have to use money to get it. At least, in Gacha, theres a chance you get the premium content without even buying.
I dont know about ToF because I only tried it in beta so I cant really say anything about the gacha aspect on the game
Also. YES, Im stingy who wont spend any money on anything. Because I'm poor. The only money I've spent is the game I bought on steam and Welking Moon on Genshin Impact
I won't make any comparisons as they can easily be biased and seen as such. Gacha like DLC is one of the same. They are fine when they are done right. But more often than not, they are done only with greed in mind which is why they get mixed to bad reputations all over. That's why many once they see dlc or gacha written anywhere, they turn away.
Also, It's funny how only after Genshin was the facto first gacha game to recieve proper PC port everyone suddenly woke up to the reality of gacha games and keeps bringing it up as an example. xD
There are worse gacha games than Genshin.
There are better gacha games than Genshin.
I actually prefer gacha's honesty about the pull systems and, depending on the title, f2p potential compared to lazy DLCs, predatory MTXs, Season Passes and all that nonsense.
At least you don't pay box price for the priviliage to pay further in-game like a lot of western games do.
And this game is shaping up to be very f2p-friendly. Of course, issue of gambling addiction is there, but so is in western games that use these models.
Ultimately, these games are highly unlikely to go away anytime soon unless asia starts to boycott them, which they won't because f2p game model was pretty much normalised there.
Genshin is a mobile game with PC and console port, not another way around. That's why the world and gameplay still look rather simplistic compared to typical PC and console games, so it can run and share account across all gaming systems.
Truth be told, it is a much better game while played on PC or console but that's besides the point.
But if they are not to your liking, Tales of Arise is another cool aime game. Atelier series are all neat little games, and Ryza games especially look and play very nice.
Sounds like yearning for Blue Protocol. Which that game is on radio silence from Bandai Namco. Blue Protocol now being a ghost tale is why I am giving Tower of Fantasy a chance after participating in CBT2.
I have a few friends now interested in playing together with, that also were turning their noses up because the word "gacha". We discussed how to go about not letting that rule the end of day, and accept what is granted over time and involvement. I will never reject someone just because they lack a certain weapon. It's more about making what weapons obtained work, and if the player makes it work well that matters when being free to play.
Obsessing over the gacha aspect will lead to grievance towards the game quick. Players who want to be ToF enjoyers befriending others during game play, are the players I want to meet. I know there is going to be players out there seeking some quality social connections and game play together. The game gives off this chill vibe and I like its potential.
But considering someone said this is a pvp game I really hope it doesnt end up the same way Kurtzpel did.
Mobile games rack up WAY more money than any other platform, why do you think everyone is trying to join the mobile market?
Even if you were to remove the gacha aspect of these games, they have INSANE amounts or luck/rng involved and pepople will still play them.
If you ever heard or played Epic 7 or Summoner wars you will know what I am talking about.
Play Sword Art Online, might be good? I never played it so not sure.
