Registry editor launch?

I played this in the past, it was fine. Mind you, I also didn't have UAC enabled, so it's possible that I missed something. Today, I go to play the game (first time in a while) and it's attempting to launch the windows RegEdit program. Now, programs can modify keys and content relevant to them without doing anything shady like launching a reg script or the editor, so I'm just kinda sitting here wondering "why's it doing this..?" and I can't think of any reason that it might be.
Default keys? Handled during installation.
Missing keys? Should be handled within the code.
Keys outside of the valid scope? They're outside the valid scope for a reason.

TLDR; This game lost my entire trust within this single action. Uninstalled immediately.

Not sure why it asks, but you can deny it access and the game still works. It is really shady though, I agree.

Yeah I know that you can refuse it and it still works. But a shady act off the hop discourages use due to concern of what could potentially follow.
