How is this an MMO?
When I played it months ago, I didn't really see any other players running around doing things.

It felt a little bit like a matchmaking game for some dungeons while I played solo.

On rare occasions you can see ppl doing things around the world, most of the time they'll be in the world bosses. But yeah game isn't exactly the most popular.

MMO- massively multiplayer online game . Maybe you need to learn the meaning behind that lol. This game is not what they say it is. Yes its online but it's small severs of people not a big one like most mmos have.. the fact you took the rude rout already says your one of them toxic players.. but come on dude.. You play that game for hours upon hours and are lucky if you come across one player or a bot lol. When people see MMO they think World of warcraft, Elder scrolls online thinks like that.. Then again your one of them peoples who are just rude..

Last time I played it was pretty barren. I don't know if it was just the server I was on (but I heard they merged them? I play on Solstice), but I rarely saw other players. Hell only on maybe one or two occasions did I see people doing a world boss. Even struggled getting anyone together for a boss run. I don't know if the new updates brought anyone back, I uninstalled recently, game just feels way too janky/laggy for me to keep playing. Plus it's 60gb now...

I've played many MMORPGs and yeah, nah. While I am still a daily player of this game, I can safely say that ToF isn't really like an MMORPG. It doesn't feel like one and it certainly doesn't provide the type of content one would expect from an MMORPG. This is also one of the biggest complaints people have and why they quit; Many people started to play it expecting an experience similar to the previous MMORPGs they've played and it just isn't, so cue disappointment.

However, if you can disregard that expectation, and take it for what it is, it can be quite a fun game. Even if it still has issues then too. I'd say the next biggest issue is the massive power creep.

They're working on fixing all these main issues though. The game is either gonna get revamped big time or remade and re-released. Not sure what the update on that is though and if it's also gonna happen for Western players. They only gathered feedback from their CN player-base, but this is the norm for most CN publishers, Hoyoverse also only generally cares about CN players and their feedback.

I guess it depends on your server?
I play on 3 different servers but only one of them feels alive tbh.
But i guess if you play tof on ps5 then you will notice more players since they are more crowded.
