gameplay and story is good enough, has awsome graphics, characters design are beautiful.
has ALOT of bugs.. but well since the dev is currently chasing CN ver progress, can't do anything about it. but yeah.. it'll all be fixed sooner and later.. and hopefully the game won't have bugs as much when it's already chasing CN server progress.
worth it? it's up to u to decide.
play the game, and see if u enjoy the game.
but tbh it's really hard for new players to keep up with day 1 players for now.. maybe they'll add an event for newcomers later to keep up with old players.
Thank you :) I will red try it out
TL;DR:
Is ToF worth trying? Sure. The combat and openworld sandbox is fun. One time exploration rewards are plentiful. You'll be able to get enough free resources to make a basic team of SSRs. Daily and weekly tasks take a minimal time commitment to complete.
Is ToF worth playing after you're tired of the the open world content? No, not really. Forgettable daily and weekly tasks. Standard characters eventually fall off in power when compared to limited characters. Takes months of weekly rewards to guarantee getting one limited character. Multiplayer content is pretty meh.
Feel free to continue reading if you want to hear my full thoughts about the game after playing off and on since the original global launch last August.
At it's core Tower of Fantasy is an open world ARPG. The developer claims this game is an MMO but I disagree with that. You will occasionally run into other players, but the majority of your playtime will be spent solo. Multiplayer game modes do exist but they're easy and forgettable for the most part. If you are looking for a game with a strong focus on multiplayer content you may find this game disappointing.
The combat is pretty fun. It's snappy with very flashy "anime" style special attacks and some minor cooldown management. You can also trigger a "phantasia" when you perform a perfect dodge, trapping the enemy in a time-slow bubble for a few seconds. Combat has enough depth to reward skillful play, but not so much that it's overwhelming.
The open world is fun enough to explore thanks to things like the jetpack and grappling hook making it easy to get around. If you enjoy wandering around clearing small camps of enemies, finding hidden chests and playing with little interactable objects you'll have a good time for a while. Each zone in the game has a lot of stuff to collect.
There are story quests as well. I'm not going to claim the narrative is great, but it gives decent rewards and doesn't overstay it's welcome.
The weakest part of the game, as is typical of gatcha games like this, is the progression system. The resources required to improve the power of your equipment are all limited to modes you can only run so many times per day or per week. You can still play modes that require stamina without stamina but you will get almost no rewards. There is definite limit to how much you can grind in this game, so if you're looking for something you can play all the time this game probably isn't what you're looking for.
In terms of F2P friendly-ness I give ToF about a 6/10. The first area of the game awards enough premium currency to get around one or two limited characters (or more if you're lucky) but that falls off very sharply in the second area. Both areas award a TON of standard pulls (several hundred gold pulls and over a thousand black pulls) but all of the standard characters have fallen behind limited characters. Standard characters aren't unusable but they definitely won't put you at the top of the DPS chart anymore. If you don't care about DPS, all of the characters are honestly fun to play and pretty unique.
Regrettably there is a point in the game where you won't be able to noticeably increase your DPS without pulling character duplicates and once you've cleaned out the first region of the game the amount of free limited pulls you get dries up almost completely. Meaning it ends up taking months to earn enough pulls to get a single limited character after you've spent your exploration rewards. I will mention that limited characters will supposedly end up in the standard pool (that's what happened in the CN version) but it probably won't happen for another 6 months or longer.
Just for the record, but there's more discovery/exploration rewards hidden away in Mirroria then the rest of the game combined.
You can find a ton of red pulls directly, and with the currency you find exploring the area, you can a total of like 300 red pulls really easy.
You say you've played on and off since August, but your knowledge seems to dictate you haven't played *since* August. lol
Developers are ruining this game so no I def can't recommend this.
They let a hacker steal items and take over 24 hours to take down the servers with him going around.
Limit server group 3 so they were getting 30~ min ques for everything
Server transfers were complete trash first round, can't wait to see how the 2nd batch goes today :) 3 servers to pick from so better hope they choose the right server for you! Takes 7 days to do another and you cant reverse. At least I couldn't.
you probably should play the game more
I couldn't imagine being 8.1 without playing the game, but I guess we will go with I don't play. Oh yea and 2 7.4 alts.
Thank you ^^
Another just defending the game post. Please show me 45k DC from explorations in Mirroria then we will talk :D Or the 300 pulls for free. Either work. You mean black nucs that are useless since they don't put anything to standard banners? Oh yea we get lots of trash rolls Indeed XD
Then we can talk about that event they want you to spend that Mira that you need for gachapons XD kekw.
and why keep bringing 45k dc, you know you can get red nucleus straight away from exploration right? you will know all of this if you actually play the game and not just leveling from the cash shop
its clear you are here to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and spread misinformation
You try to act like I didn't 100% all those things before the server transfer. Please you get 1 red nuc from grayspace bosses ea(f2p and casual WILL NOT do them) Darkspace/graypsace doesn't give you rolls it gives you Mira and Old vera coins which is a RNG at a 6k DC maximum and like 20 red nucs LEL. Darkspace is for engine parts or are you new to the game?
And yes I finished both Samir/Huma and also have the mount. You once again seem to not know (even though I'm pretty sure it was said), that I too did pretty much everything. Oh and I wouldn't give anymore money to this company even if they paid me. You also know I was a pass enjoyer and I did get first purchase DC for everything but the 99.99$. But skipped out on last months BP and the new one that's out? Also the monthly DC. Didn't even log in for the rest of my 5-6 days XD
Wasn't that new skin in the ballpark of 50$? That's messed lololol
