Is this game dying?
title.

The only thing is steam really didn't do much for boosting numbers for them. They've sat around at 50-100k player base for a while now. Tombs peaked over 100k for a short while. This coupled with how broken lost ark is on steam, thats why I sent feedback to the devs about waiting on the steam release. I knew it wasn't going to end well XD

In the time I've been on today there has been 3 broadcasts for OSRS streams XD 1 for the Battle royal, 1 for a Tech update, one for quests. They just broadcasted another thing about a poll... Yea these devs really give a ♥♥♥♥

But yes this ones dying, pretty rough when developers/publishers ruin the game, trying to get people to spend. Hard to say but I wanna believe its the publisher here.

99.99% of games are in constant state of dying, yes.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I was asking myself the same question. At the release, we had a ton of stuff to do in multiplayer, but now, when i try to find a group, its impossible...
It's a lot more noticeable on the lower server groups. Server group 1 seems to find group still pretty quick. Server group 2-3 can take a lot of time to find a group...(2 weeks ago~ for server group 2)

I jumped into a group with my main last week so I didn't miss it(group 3). Didn't really even touch my alts last week or today. So really can't say for server groups 1-2.

It doesn't surprise me server group 3 got screwed because of the ques on vera launch. I even went on my alts to ask for help with ques :/ Then go straight back to helping my ungrateful server. Feelsbadman

I use to que a lot more but honestly when it started averaging 10-15 when you spam que(group 2-3).... I chose to start doing first chests even on non resisted days lol. Such a waste :S

Well constructed post and I seen his Vera 2.0 population post. Thats how I seen which server group I was in. This version doesn't have it but has a lot of other things too.

Nirvana is my main and I remember seeing 4k before steam.

Keep bombing it. Keep dying.

Sorry to be so rude but its good information for new players and you can plainly see some servers are doing fine. I dont understand bombing stuff like this :S 500k players worldwide is pretty decent, work just needs to be done to some servers.

Tilting going through this for 2 months~

Thank you as well to the up votes, please read it and make a informed decision. Vote how you see fit but would rather a nothing vote over a fake up/down vote. There is still hope for the game, just need to come together and tell them how you feel the state of the game truly is.

you can copium all you want but sorry to say once blue protocal and ZZZ comes out. this will lose 90% of its players.
Thanks for telling me its amazon XD Hard pass.

I think you def should be worried more about Blizzard releases though. Hit or miss with them in recent times but they been doing good with Wotlk. And people been going hard on the Dragonflight PTR.

This game is effectively 'dead' more or less. The majority of players left after the multiple exploits, hacks, dupes, and other issues. When people were afraid to group with 'randoms' (required for endgame and group content like world bosses) due to the possibility of having inventory emptied out/deleted and waiting weeks or longer (or never) to get it restored by the incompetent support people they outsourced everything to handle things.

If you aren't in a good guild then you won't have people with the gear and knowledge to handle endgame content. If you don't have whales in said guild ready to hard-carry the F2Ps then you won't survive said content. There's content that was put in our version that was so difficult and stupidly-scaled that even a full team of all whales couldn't beat it. I was able to talk to one of em and they admitted as such though they had high hopes of getting it beaten the next time around.

Difficulty is completely stupid; there is no real difficulty only artificial difficulty that requires grinding and time sinks and other nonsense. The people who are left are either in good guilds, whales with sunken cost fallacy, clueless newbies, or bots. Only the first two categories can possibly help you out but good luck with that.

The game still has really horrid invasive malware/spyware that the devs call 'anti-cheat' that does nothing to actually act like real anti-cheat. It is spyware as it spies on the player and sends back data for their metrics and marketing. Nothing else. Doesn't prevent obvious hacking or any of it. People who have very blatantly hacked and exploited don't get banned. This has been the case since a year ago Dec 2021 when original Chinese version launched. The game is effectively 'dead' in China with barely a few hundred players left. Global is headed the same way.

If you want to waste your time and money there are far better ways to do so. This is not one of them.

EDIT: Also the game STILL (to this day) doesn't let you properly rebind WSAD and has it hardcoded unless you use Unreal Engine 4 tricks to modify the config file for custom inputs. I posted a guide back near launch which should still work.

There are a few gacha games I enjoyed before they turned into betrayal.

-Arknights was great but outright lies about their pull rates and pity. They screw over players to force them to burn their gathered/free currency and get them to spend instead.

-Project Neural Cloud honestly was one of the best gacha game releases this year, but they ruined by with the pedophile event that fetishized/sexualized a teen girl streamer and put that event front and center for their daily promos. Very much nope'd out of that. I should've known better than to trust the devs of Girls Frontline to hold in their pedophile impulses but I was wrong on that.

-Path to Nowhere in a rare twist has an exclusively all-adult cast of characters for a gacha game. No chibi models in battle either. Strategic and tactical gameplay. The issue with this game is that as soon as you start you're on a hard-countdown timer of 14 days to complete all 8 chapters of the story (with fully-leveled fully-maxed characters required as of the end of Chapter 4 to pass story stages) and a hard grindwall starting as of Stage 3-10.

So I'd say play Path to Nowhere if you're ok with diving in and hard-grinding the 14 day event for your free SSR character. After that you can chill and just stick with dailies and resource grinds at your own pace. Game has some pretty fantastic English dub btw so do listen to it even if you're used to Japanese dubs ;)

Just bear in mind the advertising for PtN is absolute cringe and portrays it as some sex-slave game (which is not truthful at all whatsoever). There are no interactions or 'torture' or anything during the interrogations; it is all just dialogue/text with one 'are you sure' choice that you can fail if you make the wrong one (so those who just skip text will fail if they don't look up a guide ahead of time).
