Benefit of playing a Simulacra?

Okay I am just dumb I know at least that much. But I really don't get what playing as a Simulacra dose other than change appearance. I don't have any awakened yet so maybe that's it. or is it really just the appearance and the benefit is 100% their weapon.

I not asking lore wise, but game play wise. Is there any benefit to using them as opposed to your player created character?

It is just for appearance you can unlock passiv abilitys if you give simulacras enough gift but those also work if you use your self created character and equip the passive

its just visual, so you don't get tired of always playing with the same character...

OK thanks. Wasn't sure if they had some kind of unique ability or move set when using them or not. The abilities and move sets come from their weapons, and they are just skins. Got it.

can give the characters gifts to unlock buffs.

you can equip 1 character skin and then use the buff of a other one if unlocked.

If u pair the simulcara with her weapon, I think there is a unique animation attached to it.

BUT, there is a case where pairing Simulcara to its weapon will be a DPS loss. Samir helicopter I believe has longer windup animation so a very slight DPS loss there
