I know with relics I press G to swap but with weapons?

That's another thing that I hope they will add with next updates. Currently u can't from the UI.

Best thing to do is going under Setting>customer service> send feeback /suggestions. Steam forum won't help with that.

I also want this. I have prepared some presets for when I need a certain elemental to solve puzzles and get those nucleus things, but having to open the weapons screen for it is a bit bothersome. Then again, currently fastest way is to press N and quickly select your next weapon set.

Having a button to cycle through weapon sets would be nice, but what we really need is the ability to assign matrices per weapon set. That way you don't have to move matrices between weapons each time you want to use a different set of weapons.
