Tower of Fantasy

Is this game PVP P2W?
People say it's a Genshin competitor,
but from what I can tell this game is more like FFXIV
Anyone tried it and tell me what the paying mechanism is like?

Gameplay-wise, it's akin to FFXIV in a sense that it's an MMORPG where you can explore the world with your Guild and take down world bosses together along with some randoms.
I'd say it's closer to PSO2 compared to FFXIV and Genshin in my own opinion.

Combat, though, it's more like Monster Hunter with all the gadgets and 3 weapons combination that you can utilize for solo play and also group play. Especially in group play, where Endgame raids requires specific "class" to clear said content with relative challenge (if you have whales in your party, though, prepare to MAYBE steamroll said content, depending on their capability).

Depending on current meta. PVP is normilized, but you need at least 0 star weapon from a limited banner. So, yeah, sure, it's p2w.
But, pvp is lagfiest with cheaters right now. Dubious pleasure.

p.s.
And it's not like genshin. There's no pvp or any hard content that requiers you to whale for it.
Can't say about FF.

It's definitely not like Genshin. Ave really needs to stop posting on these forums and spewing random shit.

It's very MMO-like where a lot of the grind is multiplayer content. The only time it's like Genshin is if you just wanna whale to essentially "P2W", but it's more like pay for convenience.

I've maxed out Samir ages ago via free banner with shear luck. She's the meta PVE character at the moment. This game has a lot to offer whereas Genshin doesn't. But storywise, you'll probably be better invested in Genshin or any Mihoyo game. ToF is more for gameplay experience than anything else.

pvp is not p2win in 1v1 cuz your weapons get to c6 for it. its more skill based.

Its an mmorpg with Gacha and timegating so its basically an mmo version of Genshin, you have no freedom to play the game how much you want, and you are kinda forced to do the gacha. If you want an mmorpg go for PSO2 or FFXIV only touch this if you are a gambling addict like all the ppl who love gacha games.

Also either the optimisation of this game is absolute garbage, or the game does something in the background since it taks 100% of your RAM, CPU and GPU while looking like a PS3 game. And considering it asks you for kernel access level rights there might be something to the fact that this game IS actually doing something in the background.

I might sound dumb, but what does it mean ''gacha game''?

It's funny with the story because now we're in Vera, Hotta lost the purpose of why our characters are over there to begin with.

Not really..? Shirli is still looking for Zeke, but Vera has its own issues to contend with.

Gacha game basically means that you have some kind of collection, be it characters or weapons that you get from random lotteries, where usually 90% of what you get from those lotteries is worth less than 0, example Genshin Impact where on a character banner you will get 1 guaranteed character per 10 rolls, and the rest of the rolls are basically 3 star weapons which are not even worth to equip as they are absolute garbage in terms of stats. Also in regard on how much gacha you can do, dont know about ToF but in Genshin it was 20-30 rolls per month as a free to play person and you would need around 40-50 euro per 10 rolls if you would want to pay, so basically 1 character per almost a triple A game price.

Its a type of game for ppl who are addicted to gambling, and want to spend thousands of dollars to get a character they want to later play them in a game that heavily limits your gameplay time. In Genshin if you do all the story you literally left with 20 minutes per day at best. I was waiting for this game cause when it was being showcased a year ago and advertised it was done as an MMO game not a gacha.
