I know I'm a little late to the party here. But despite this question being relatively outdated by the time of this post (assuming everyone has already figured out how to do this), I just thought I'd explain the solution a bit more precisely for those who would like to explore those earlier chapters for extra content and stuff to do who don't already know how--it's actually pretty simple, but I acknowledge everyone who was basically trying to explain this. If you're a new player of TOF you're probably especially interested in finding out what all exactly happened with Shirly & Zeke and exploring Aesperia via the questline (see last paragraph).
Tell me if this sounds familiar: Now'a'days it seems new players are going to be veered to Vera/Mirroria--skipping all 5 chapters(2-6) going into chapter 7 of the story. After you've entered Hykros for the first time, and talked to Elric (to unlock your hidden potential via Hykros research findings or whatever) suddenly your hit with a second cutscene following the one with Elric & Thor--I mean Klema, and this is where things start getting confusing [(for relatively new players) assuming they care even a little about the story and having more to do {like me}]. As players, we're given the impression before going to Hykros that we have to essentially save an unconscious Shirly & desperate Zeke from making a big mistake with Heirs of Aida. But the cutscene apparently spoils the major events of what you would have experienced(ch.2-6) after leaving Hykros as was originally the idea before the Vera update. You talk to Franz whom turns out to be the one who has your character "[experience] a piece of reality all over again"(the spoiling cutscene), then you talk to Shirli (say what?) who's worried about your memory backup process (GURR I WAS WORRIED ABOUT YOU--wym??), then The Main Line quest tells you to talk to Claire. From there you're directed to enter into Vera via orange portal.
ANSWER: As it turns out, the questline for all of Aesperia including the Island of Astra (Chapters 2-6) are accessible the moment you step into Vera like the game wants you to. After you're done talking with Pepper in Vera, you should see "Talk to Eva" as the next thing to do in Vera's questline. But if you go to your "Missions" (Terminal > Missions) then go to "Memories" You should see "Return to Aesperia". You can also find this on your screen where your quests usually are. It will have a blue exclamation sign instead though (there should also be there the option "Begin the Aesperia story" which upon selection teleports you straight back to Astra).Once you do just follow the quest all the way back to Aesperia atop Astra Omnium Tower (before you got to Hykros), talk to Franz & Palu and you should be good to go. I hear you get a bunch of stuff early on going along with the Vera questline though. 'ither way just know you can always go back to Vera when you view your Missions on the side of your screen by selecting "Vera storyline" or simply going back to the respective orange portal in Hykros.
Hope this helps! <3
You literally copied and pasted from reddit post here roughly 2 hours or so after that was posted:

Presuming you aren't a filthy plagiarist that just got a bunch of awards for no reason, I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt. So are you the author of that original post and can you prove as such?
