How is this an mmorpg?
From what I hear if you want to play multiplayer your only option is to party up with a total of 3 other people? How is that a mmorpg? Thats a 3morpg

I played in closed beta, and this is indeed a MMO. If you roaming around, you're bound to find another players who are also doing their thing. I can't really tell how many players will you be able to find in this open world since in CBT, not many players are playing since it was only a closed beta. The biggest group I could find in my play through was only 5 people in one area though, we can probably expect to find more once this game goes global. You can interact with them, asking them to party up dll. I never form a party so I dont know if theres a limit on how many people you can form in one party

Is it open world? How much freedom is there in terms of movement and stuff?

Your party is limited to 4, but you can see more in the open world. In the CBT, I fought an open world boss with over 8 people there. I didn't count exactly how many, but I know there were around that many.

It is, and everything is pretty much accessible since you will have lots of device that will help you climb around or skateboarding on waters. Just imagine you're playing genshin, but with some MMORPG twist such as mounts and meeting other people (as long as you're on the same line).

Some weeks ago I saw a video of the last CBT and the player was roaming the world until he saw some players (Idk how many but I think at least 6) fighting an open world boss. So yeah, actually the game is a mmo.

So basically unlike a traditional mmorpg where you essentially have access to seeing everyone in the server, you can only see people doing the same quest? Interesting.. Still I hope it has some sort of hub for everyone to meet.

no, you can meet people while exploring the world. as long as you're staying in the same line.

for example, if you and some people happens to be on the same line, you will have an encounter with them. you wont meet them if you are on a different line thought. of course you can freely change line too if you want to meet others or dont want to be disrupted by others.

If anything it's a MORPG kind of like PSO2, it's not massive but there are other players about

So essentially, what they're trying to say is that the "lines" in ToF is basically the same thing as server channels in other MMMORPGs.

Yep, that's right. Line in TOF is basically the server channels. And there are a lot of lines in ToF. I dont know why they make it so many thou.

How many players can be on a Liner/Server?
Hungibungi Jul 5, 2022 @ 12:03pm
The render limit is 30, but over 100 players can be on a line.

In CN there used to be 40 servers with 200 (haven’t seen a line number above 199, but could be the case) lines.

It's full open world. The instanced dungeons are called Joint Ops, they have a part size of 4. If you played World of Warcraft, it's the same as an instance; and those were limited to 5 players.

There's a fair number of world raid bosses, any number of players can participate in those fights. You'll also see a good number of players moving around.

Hopefully we'll see instanced raid bosses as well. Guilds currently hold up to 150 players in them for the social aspect of an MMO (don't quote me on these numbers, I wasn't in a guild in the CBT).

I played in the US CBT2 from June 22nd-26th.
